G4 5kg Pond/Damp Sealer

My pond is 66 years old so you can imagine the state of it when I emptied it. It was leaking somewhere which caused the level to drop halfway down the sides.After emptying it I couldnt find a hole or crack suprisingly. I chiseled off the loose awful pebble dash that had had its day and filled in some areas with mortar. Once all dry I used G4 pond sealer. I didnt hold out much hope as the pond had obviously seen better days.I chose a sunny warm day and coated it from top to bottom. I actually gave it 4 coats..just in case! Still doubtful it would work as the side were so porous.It pooled in the hole in the bottom and at the corners but that couldn't be helped.Built the pond back up and added the water.Well..my hard work paid off. It doesnt leak. Im actually shocked!The sealer worked like a dream and it was so easy to apply. If it can work on this ancient concrete hole then it can work anywhere. Highly recommended stuff.I bought the 5kg but only used half of the tin. It goes further than you think!

Easy enough to apply by brush (fumes were strong); had to ensure it filled any rough areas of render properly just to ensure it sealed, but it all dried to a smooth, glue-like surface. A clear but slightly yellowy sealer which turned the sand and cement brown when dry in the same way it would look when wet, which worked fine for us as it was to seal a small waterfall structure and pond, so looked more natural. I applied three coats with 90 minutes' drying time inbetween, not overloading and placing the brush in a plastic bag between the first two coats, but it had almost hardened by the time of application of the third so I used a new brush. It spread farther than expected and certainly seems to have done what we hoped for, as the pond has remained watertight!

The sealer has darkened - and made glossy - beautiful, natural slate slabs in my garden. Please tell me how to remove it or restore the slate to its natural state. Thank you. Frances

Great product and does a great job. I just need to find a bulk buy for the larger area I have to do, to keep costs down.
