Up the Dosage

The band calls this cd their 'Back in Black'..and since i'm a 'Let there be Rock" guy myself..(prefer the more raw early stuff to the more polished post Bon Scott stuff)..i was a bit worried that this would be too mainstream for my taste. Thankfully..what we have here..is Nashville Pussy with great production and diverse songs..yet retaining all the bombast..sleaze..humor..and energy they have always had! Influences from Motorhead to Aerosmith to Sabbath abound..all filtered through Blaine and Ruyter's Southern fried..whiskey soaked.. Marshalls on 11 lens. The inclusion of an acoustic number.."Hooray for Cocaine, Hooray for Tennessee" shows them willing to take a chance and branch out a bit. Blaine still pens funny as hell lyrics and Ruyter still tears up an SG..all is well with the world! Hopefully, this will be the one that finally gets the band the recognition in their own country that they deserve..the Europeans already know!

Cheers to Nashville Pussy for keepin' the rock alive. Don't let the band's image and name fool you....these are some ridiculously talented musicians and songwriters. As with every new album release in their career, Nashville Pussy continues to progress and evolve beyond their more raw styled beginnings. 'Up The Dosage' is big step up from the somewhat lukewarm 'From Hell To Texas'. The added elements found on 'Up The Dosage' such as organ, steel guitar, etc should be familiar to fans of latter day Nine Pound Hammer and especially the Kentucky Bridgeburners and take nothing away from the core Nashville Pussy sound. It was a long time coming (5 years!!) for this one but well worth the wait!!!

Rock'n'Roll as it should be played, loud, proud and down'n'dirty. It's like they never went away. The band are firing on all 8 cylinders fueled by Jim and Jack and are clearly having a grea time. On form, a must for any Pussy fan.If you don't know Nashville Pussy, and you should, this would be a good introduction. The band is Southernn Rock Lynerd Skynerd, with Motorhead, Girlschool and a bit of George thorogood thrown in. Hard rockin' Southern metal. BUY

Buy this pussy! If your looking at this review, then you probably are considering buying this album. Who rocks harder than Nashville Pussy? F-in nobody, thats who! This album has got some heavy guitars and there is a funky influence from Blaines other band, Kentucky Bridgeburners. There is mad soul in this rocknroll and if you are a frequent lover of the pussy, then don't be a dick and buy this album. Totally worth it.

It's good. Seems like Say Some Nasty was their zenith but still this has swagger and I like it.

I wasn't so keen with "Hell to Texas" of all the NP releases since the beginning. Yes, I've been there from the start. I love my music but have a hard time following everything new these days; especially when there is a 5 year gap between releases. So when Christmas shopping on Amazon recently, I decided to have a look and see what was new with some of my favorite bands. I saw this and pondered purchasing it. I read a few reviews. Listened to a couple snippits. Then added it to my list. WOWEE! Holy freakin' lovin' it! It's been in the truck for 2 weeks since I got it, never left the player.My only complaint is that 39 minutes just isn't long enough.Please don't make us wait another 5 years.I hope to see yas in Toronto again some day. Im Gegensatz zu ihren vorigen Alben sind Nashville Pussy wesentlich abwechslungreicher.Das Ganze kommt aber trotzdemmit Schmackes daher.Ein klasse Album.
