Well designed to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm??
The scoop is well designed and manufactured. Works great in the ice box. However, it arrived with a California Prop 65 warning label: "This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm." I realize that the manufacturer is forced to add this label to avoid lawsuits under Prop 65, but it is completely unclear to me what action I am supposed to take. The scoop arrived with no packaging, product information, warranty information or the manufacturer's contact information. If I could contact them, I would have some questions, like: What exactly are the harmful chemicals? Will they transfer to the human body? If so how? Is the chemical leaching better or worse in the freezer at 0 deg F compared to room temperature?I'm trying to decide whether to send this back for a different scoop, but there is no guarantee that a different scoop won't contain harmful chemicals as well. Hard to give a star rating: 5 stars for design, 1 star for cancer and birth defects, for a final score of 3 stars.Update 2016-09-14: A bit more Googling revealed that the cancer causing agent is probably BPA. It is used in the manufacturing of polycarbonate, which is the material used for this product. Apparently, new regulations in California requires Prop 65 warnings on polycarbonate after May 11, 2016. I have been diligent at avoiding plastics as much as possible (e.g. using glass storage containers in the fridge). So I decided return this item, and just use my fingers to pick up the ice. It's possible that the contaminants on my fingers are worse than the BPA on the scoop. I guess I'm now more motivated to wash my hands more frequently.

Too large for my freezer tray
I wanted to leave this one in my rectangular ice cube container in the freezer. It fits, but is too big to be used comfortably.

Nice scoop!!
Very nice, strong scoop!! I bought this to clean the cat's litter box when the small plastic scoop was just not doing the job. This scoop would work for a ton of uses, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

Highest quality polycarbonate ice scoop, but with one flaw a label glue residue
You should be aware that there's an issue with the glue that was used to adhere the label to the underside of this scoop.I was able to peel the paper label off using my nails and fingers. However, there is a residue of glue that is left on the scoop and no amount of using Bona Ami cleanser and Dishmate soap mixed together into a paste will get this glue off. Hence, there's still a tacky layer left on the ice scoop. In which, if you suffer from multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) just be aware that a tacky residue of glue remains on the scoop. On the other hand, if you can live with the underside of this scoop in a small area about ½ and inch by ½ an inch will remain sticky then buy this scoop. This polycarbonate scoop has a nice light blue sheen to it and the feel of it is sturdy along with it effortlessly scoops and pours ice. This ice scoop by far the best ice scoop I have ever used or seen.

Just what I needed.
Ordered this scoop because our new refrigerator / freezer did not have an ice dispenser in the door. Wanted a scoop to get ice for our drinks.Appears to be sturdy enough to do the job without cracking or breaking. Just the right size for a glass of tea or water.

The Perfect Cat Litter Scoop
After decades of trying out all sorts of scoops, I finally found the perfect cat litter scoop!First, there were the pet stores scoops - perfectly useless! Then there were the stainless steel ones that were flimsy, and rusted after constant contact with kitty pee. Then I graduated to plastic food scoops - and I used those all these years. - acceptable, but not ideal. This one is large and strong, and will not crack after months of use, unlike the plastic ones. Being aluminium, I don't expect this to rust either, like the so-called stainless steel ones. And last but not least, this has a flat bottom - presenting the largest contact point with the base of the kitty litter tray, which means the clumps of litter are lifted off easily and cleanly.Clearing kitty litter trays in our multi-cat household is now a breeze!I think I am going to order a couple more right away!

Ok scoop
The scoop is clear and plastic is not very thick so expect it will crack soon. My biggest complaint is the sticker on the bottom of the scoop would not come off! I used some sticker remover which etched the surface everyplace it touched, down the sides, etc. It looks awful but the sticker did come off with the remover. Scoop does the job but very unsightly.
