Got it. Appears to work for my purpose (square-wave oscillator). No 5th star because it is completely unmarked. No notch between 1 and 8, either (though the indent at pin 1 is there, but tiny). I don't know whether this is common now or not, but it's annoying.

Super useful little chip. I protoyped a project I was working on with an Arduino UNO, and then used this in the final project. I used it with the internal clock at 8Mhz. It's super tiny, and didn't even need an external crystal when configured this way! Not to mention, it's way cheaper to leave this in the project than an entire Arduino. This is even cheaper than using something like a Trinket.I flashed the code and fuses using a Bus Pirate and AVRdude. It worked great!

I'll be ordering more...these come in just as handy (or more) than 555s. Make sure to get 8-pin DIP sockets so you can reuse these in your prototypes. You don't want to solder them directly to the board - just use DIP sockets!
