It Works! Rats Gone!
The rats are gone! One week is all it took to do the job. I put the rat trap in my garage for one week and l was able to exterminate three rodents & seemed to suppress them from fully invading my garage. The remaining rodents seemed to have gotten the message and have moved on.Easy to set up and use. It's simple... Fill up a bucket with a water, hook up the stairs/walk ways and strap some bacon(my bait of choice) underneath the roof of the trap.Good Luck!

Useless. Rat dances on the lid...
Although this is very cute, it hasn't worked at all for us. Only the rat has benefited from this setup. He goes up the stairs, eats the bait, then dances around on the lid as if to say, "haha, thanks for the food. I won!" You can see his little claw and foot prints in the flour we put on the "dropping lid". Not sure why this doesn't work, it is set up according to directions, and the rat is pretty large, but somehow manages to never cause the lid to drop.

"IT REALLY WORKS"
We live on a farm and farms have plenty of mice. I could go on and on about this thing but I am gonna get straight to the point. It works great. Just a bit of peanutbutter in each ear and the mice are satisfied with the temptation. You will like the numbers that are kicking the bucket; pun intended. You will not regret making this purchase.

Wow, not bad.
I expected it to be a cheap and crooked piece of plastic - in fact, it's not a bad mechanism. Right size: it fits perfectly on The Home Depot 5-gallon buckets. It also has latches on the sides in case you catch a dinosaur so that it cannot open the lid and escape lol … Very thoughtful

Waste of money
I bought 2 buckets, was told these were perfect for our mice infestation. We have had them up for over a week and not one mouse. We have changed out the bait and nothing. Don't waste your money stick with old fashion traps.

Great
Fill it with about five inches of water and check it once or twice a week....no more mice.

Poor Quality
I’ve only had this for 3 days and now the flap lid will not close back. It rained the first day I set it up so I assumed the water was keeping it from closing. I’m returning it because it’s been bright and sunny but it will not remain close. Great idea but poor quality.
