I purchased this trickle charger to prolong the life of the battery in my Harley while it sits through the winter months. Plugged in the charger and it automatically switched to 12v and started charging. The charger also came the day after I ordered it! Will definitely be purchasing from Northeast Cycle Shop again in the near future!

Connected it to a battery and it would not charge it. Thinking I missed something I looked through the manual and read that it does not charge dead batteries. I'm thinking this might have been useful information to put in the description since it is sold as a battery charger.

I have multiple chargers and for trickle charging usually use the name brand charger and have for many years.Both seem to do the same thing but this one weights about half as much and the reason is that this one is made of thin plastic. Not sure how long it will last in my garage as things aren't always treated with kid gloves.Pluses for this one are the price and the fact that it includes both the trickle charge adapter you attach semi-permanently to your battery but also a set of clamps for bikes that don't have the adapter or for charging off the bike. This one also has 'repair' mode which my name brand trickle charger does not. I have repair mode on a non-trickle charger and not sure it really does anything: some batteries recover, others don't and I can't be sure why.Minuses are the flimsy plastic construction (I can't see the clamps lasting very long in routine use) and the short power cord. The cord is only 3 feet so unless I really snug a bike up close to an outlet I have to use an extension cord.The instruction book is fairly useless as it's written in Mandarin English, not that you really need it.
