Nice Book on Turner
Nice book on Turner's works. Note that Taschen's "Basic Art" series hardcover books seem to come without the outer paper dust jacket/cover now.

Great for decoration
The media could not be loaded. The only con is that it’s very thin…but the price was no bad at all. I will need a few more to create a nice coffee table decor.

Writing seems like a bad translation
The photos are beautiful and I’m happy to add it to my Basic Art Series collection. But the way it’s written is VERY difficult to understand. Sentences like, “In those days, landscapes were seen as a genre for painters who had decided to specialize in landscape painting.” and, “All this occurred within the space of one and the same year,” leave you with less information than what you started with… or the same information… or none at all. I’m still trying to decipher it. It sounds/reads like it was written in a different language and was then poorly translated. BUT! Beautiful pictures…

Turner comes to life.
An attractive concise volume which highlights Turner's amazing watercolor seascapes and his exceptional rendering of the built landscapes, such as Rome, and imaginative views of Carthage, and Homer's world. The whole page plates create a pleasant gallery feel. This book, with its mix of useful text interspersed with drawings, creates a worthy account of this brilliant master's life.

Highly recommended!
Great Book. Paper quality is excellent and the images are vibrant and clear. This gives me a very good idea on how the art looks in real life. I have so far only glanced at the text, but it is much more in depth than I expected and very well structured. Highly recommended, will look at more books from this series.
