The L4 bulbs with Adaptive Lighting was Finicky but was fixed with help from VOCOlinc's support
UPDATE April 20, 2025After I finally contacted VOCOlinc support via email, they worked with me to get my L4 bulbs working properly. The latest firmware was causing the issue, and VOCOlinc guided me to restore the previous firmware for the bulbs. The old firmware works correctly with Apple Home/HomeKit automations and scenes as well as Siri voice control. I again recommend VOCOlinc smart L4 bulbs. (P.S. VOCOlinc has not asked me to change my review, I felt this review update was necessary.)[Original review] I have almost a dozen Vocolinc L3 bulbs with zero issues ever for several years. They work great, respond well, never disconnect from Apple Home... but these new L4 bulbs with adaptive lighting is absolutely a headache. L4 lights will only turn on with a cool white and 100% brightness EVERY SINGLE TIME regardless of telling the bulbs to not use adaptive lighting when setting them up and making sure that setting is off. I often have to cycle the power to get them back responding. I do have them set to use last color and brightness, but all my automations and asking Siri to turn them on will only give me bright white after they are off more than one hour. I hope there's a firmware update in the next couple weeks or they all get returned.

Multi-platform Great Value!
I’m a big fan of these bulbs! I have 8 of them now. I am also a big fan of Philips Hue and mostly have their bulbs in my home, but these are an amazing alternative and are actually superior it terms of brightness and at a lower price. I only buy smart home equipment that is compatible with both Apple Home/HomeKit and Alexa. I also find that most Alexa enabled devices also play well with Google which is nice. I have some kind of Echo in almost every room, which makes it easy to control my smart home devices via voice commands. On the other hand, devices have to go through stringent security hoops to be certified by Apple (which makes me feel a bit more at ease) and I feel like the Apple platform is superior for creating automations/routines. There are also a multitude of iOS apps to help you get the most out of your smart home, including ones that actually backup your smart home setup. I’ve labored over my smart home setup for hours upon hours so it’s nice to know I have backups...for the Apple side of things. To my knowledge, Amazon does not yet offer a backup option for your smart home settings. This was recently very very very painful when I inadvertently deleted all of my smart home devices and settings on the Amazon side of things and had to start over from scratch. Amazon, please fix this or let me know if I’m missing something. Anyway, on the other hand, Apple’s HomePods are quite expensive compared to Amazon’s variety of Echo devices and I don’t always care to retrieve my phone from my pocket or from another room to control my smart home gear. Going with equipment that can be used on both platforms literally gives me the best of both worlds, offers the most flexibility, and security, and these bulbs are part of that equation at a very reasonable price.

Best Apple HomeKit Smart Bulbs!!
I just changed my smart home hub to the Apple Home Pod Mini from Alexa (Sorry Amazon) and needed bulbs that would work with it. The ones I had with Alexa were fine however when I had to change my internet modem, repairing and setting them up and having them work in tandem with Alexa, was a nightmare and not user friendly by any means. That’s what prompted me to switch to the Apple Home Pod Mini. Absolutely the most user friendly and quickest smart home set up by far. These bulbs do not require an app to use if you’re using the Apple Home Pod. Simply open the “Home” app by Apple and add an accessory. You literally scan the QR code on the base of the bulb with your iPhone in the app and it automatically connects. I just scanned it and as it was connecting, I just simply screwed the bulb in with the switch on and it took about 30 seconds and it was done. Instantly ready to use with Siri! Best choice in my Smart Home set up. If you’re an Apple user and want to use or currently use the Home app to control all your lighting, these are the bulbs! Don’t even consider others. Just get these and you’ll be Gucci.

Worked pretty well with Apple Homekit
I bought this as a cheap bulb that work with Apple HomeKit.It was easy to set up and connectivity has been quick and responsive. My one issue is that one of the two I purchased sometimes turns on randomly in the middle of the night. I would be sleeping and be woken up by my lamp being turned on. This happened a couple of nights in a row so I just removed it from Apple Home and reset it. Since then, I haven’t had any issues with it.
