Philip Kennedy is one of the best informed and easy to read theologians of our time. This book is worth reading again and again.

I'm sorry I didn't see this book closer to its publication date because I would have loved to offer it my support back then. Like the previous reviewer I think it is just what was needed, but as well as dealing with the comments of those who regard theology as a waste of time, I also think it is just what theology students young and old need to remind us of how serious and exciting theology has been down through the ages and can still be today. Yes, theology is exciting! Well done Philip Kennedy!
