Never loved a fountain pen as much as this one!
Relatively new to fountain pens, having used Pilot (Kakuno and Metropolitan) and Lamy (AL Star and Safari) in the past but didn't really get "it" until this pen.I was debating on the Kaweco Brass Sport before discovering this one at half the price. Figured if this one was a bust I'd try the Kaweco. But as soon as I picked it up an began to write, it was a real treasure.First, I meant to order the Medium Nib but accidentally got the Fine Nib instead. I was blown away by how smooth it writes. Not scratchy and dry. No pulling or unnecessary pushing the nib, it just moves. No leaking. I used Diamine ink in the color Sage and Pelikan 4000 ink in Violette on Midori MD paper while testing this pen out, both I'd say are "wetter" inks (while the Midori paper is very FP friendly) especially the Diamine. And for a "smaller" pen, I'd say it doesn't eat up inks. I kept checking it like 'am I going to run out?' only to see it was plenty full.If you love a cold and weighted pen, give this one a try. I've used a friends Kaweco in the past and noticed that it wasn't THAT heavy but the M2 has a bit of weight to it which I love! It's small and fits right in a pocket or pouch. It comes with a universal ink converter (similar to the Lamy vacuum converter). The pen doesn't come with ink cartridges and doesn't arrive filled with ink. So if you have your own, the M2 is ready to go.As for the nib size, the Fine nib looks and feels more like Medium. I'd put it somewhere in-between a Pilot F nib and a Lamy M nib (which is rather thick tbh). Later I did order another pen, this time with a Medium nib and the difference between the Fine and Medium nib is rather minimum. No harm done! Just know that there isn't stark difference between the two nibs for this pen.I love the brass coloring and even bought a black one soon after. This has become my everyday writing pen since it's so easy and fun to use. Not to mention the price.Highly recommend for anyone to give it a try!

Best Fountain Pens HANDS DOWN!!
Sometimes it can be easy to dismiss what one might initially think of as another Chinese company pumping out a mass produced product. Because of the quantity of these sorts of companies one can assume their quality is lessened, and sometimes that is the case. But not here. Hongdian does an INCREDIBLE job with their products! I’ve been using fountain pens since 2003 and used Schaefer, Parker, Montefiore, etc. and these Hongdian’s are BY FAR the most functional, sleek, smooth-writting, and well crafted pens I’ve seen. All the fit and finish are spot on. The nibs are deburred and well rounded for the smoothest writing experience you can have (gel pens don’t compare). They are sleek and easy to carry with you and use on a day to day basis. You can just feel they’re solid, not cheaply made, with excellent attention to detail. Their refill system is simple and affordable. I love these pens , and the price point is mind blowing. If you’re planning on buying one, then BUY TWO. They are THAT good!

Great pen! Clip iffy.
Great pen. Like everything about it except the the clip hinge pin came out of the pivot hole. I was able to get it back in, but it will probably pop back out and I may lose it if I'm not very careful. The whole clip is replaceable, so I'll probably be able to get another one.

Hongdian M2
My favorite thing about this pen is definitely that the finial of the cap has cats on it.I got the extra fine version because I tend to write small. The nib is very nice. It has some flex and bounce to it, and it writes very smoothly but also dries quickly. The pen is also very attractive. I love the color options and plan to get more. Another great thing is how small and portable it is. It is perfect as a daily travel pen. I enjoy writing with it posted and unposted.Only issue I had is that the first pen arrived with a beaten up case, a barely functioning clip, a leaky barrel, and a nib that barely wrote and was slightly bent. I highly suspect it was a return that was sold as new, so I won't blame the pen.

Cant believe how good this pen is.
One of this pen's standout features is its compact size, making it the perfect everyday carry. Despite its reduced dimensions, it feels reassuringly substantial in hand, thanks to its solid brass construction. Its pocket-friendly design ensures it fits comfortably in your pocket or bag without adding unnecessary bulk or weight. For those on the move, this pen is a reliable companion, ready to jot down thoughts or notes at a moment’s notice. I keep this pen in my Traveler's Notebook Passport size. The pen’s design is an ode to minimalism and durability. Not sure if this pen will develop a patina though, the brass seems to be coated or something. The threading mechanism is smooth and secure, ensuring the cap stays firmly in place whether the pen is in use or stored. The medium nib strikes the ideal balance between precision and versatility, appealing to both casual writers and enthusiasts alike.Performance-wise, this pen truly shines. The medium nib glides effortlessly across the page, offering a smooth, uninterrupted flow of ink. Whether you’re writing quick notes or composing longer pieces, the pen delivers a consistently enjoyable experience. Its balance, even with the cap posted, makes it comfortable for extended writing sessions. This pen is a triumph of thoughtful design and engineering. Perfect for those who value portability without compromising on style or writing quality, it’s a must-have for anyone seeking a reliable, beautiful, and functional addition to their everyday carry. With its timeless appeal and smooth writing experience, this pen effortlessly combines practicality with sophistication. Highly recommended!
