Good quality good look- wish the guard was deeper though
Looks pretty good and is fairly well made build quality wise! Tamper has a good weight to it and the puck works great. Ring could be bigger and have more depth to be honest as when you are using a WDT you have to be careful to not send grounds flying.

Great Set!
First off- this didn’t work for me. That’s only because I’m new to the home espresso game and didn’t realize that there were different sizes of filters. With that being said, this set is amazing and I wished that it worked for me. It’s a size 53mm or more and I needed one that was 51mm. I really like the feel of the tamp because it’s spring loaded and heavy duty. On top of the, the set comes with the puck screen and funnel to help with putting in espresso.Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who needs this size. With everything that comes with and the price, you’ll be hard pressed to find something better.

Amazing quality tools for a great value
First off, I will start by saying that these are WAY more affordable than some of the other high-end espresso tools out there, namely Normcore. The tamper alone in this kit is worth the price in my eyes. It's sleek, satin black, and solid. It feels very nice and heavy, and the company's logo is not obnoxious and actually looks cool on the tool. It functions just like every other tamper, but feels great in the hands. The puck screen is a puck screen, not too much to say there. I do prefer the super thin styled puck screens, however. For those of you that use conventional style puck screens, this one functions perfectly fine.Lastly, the dosing funnel. The good is that it is also very sleek and solid. The magnets are strong, and it clamps onto my portafilter perfectly fine. The actual opening is wide, which I highly prefer. The one complaint I do have, which seems to be common on lots of dosing funnels, is that the inner wall does not extend past the lip of the portafilter basket. I prefer dosing rings that are designed with this in mind, as they don't allow for grounds to get on the edges of your basket. When there is no inner wall that goes past the lip of the basket, grounds tend to find their way upwards towards the lip of it. It's not a deal breaker, just a slight complaint. Note that Normcore also has their dosing rings designed the exact same way, which I've also complained about.Overall, this set is a way better value than any other high-end espresso tools on the market currently. The brand's packaging, logo, and styling is modern and sleek. I much prefer these to quite a lot of other tools I've reviewed in the past. I can't wait to see what else Mantis has in-store for espresso enthusiasts. I'd highly recommend picking up this kit, whether you are a beginner or an expert.

Excellent Tamper, ring and puck!
I really like this kit. I was initially only buying it for the ring and tamper but the puck screen was the real star of the show for me. I have a standard Breville Barista express and this kit works perfectly aside from one minor issue. The ring will fit on the portafilter without issue but it will not fit under the bean hopper to allow for the beans to fall directly into the filter. This isn't a major issue for me since i like to use a cup before adding the grounds to the filter but its worth mentioning. I was having issues getting the non-pressurized filter to produce decent espresso until i started using this kit. I think, for me, the issue was that i was applying too much uneven pressure on the grounds. The tamper with this kit only allows about an inch or half an inch of compression so its impossible to over do the pressure, perfect for me. It also prevents you from applying pressure unevenly by bracing itself around the lip of the portafilter. I think the fit on the tamper could be a little tighter but i can't complain with the results so its possible that this is truly the best size. Without the puck, i was within the bottom half of the "espresso range" on the gauge but with it, it gets right to the top of the range and holds nicely. I now have the absolute best espresso I have tried coming out of my machine. Build quality seems top notch and well worth the money, especially with such a well rounded kit. The one thing this kit could use would be a WDT tool but that would add considerable cost to the item. Do yourself a favor and buy this kit along with a WDT and you'll be making perfect espresso.

LOVE THIS
As a beginner at home coffee maker (lol) these tools were helpful to get me started using my new espresso machine.I’ve had these tools for a couple weeks now and use them every single time I make coffee.I have the breville barista express (I believe) and the products fit perfectly on/in the portafilter

Not "Calibrated" & Corners Were Cut
This is a single spring tamp, not a dual spring. On a dual spring tamp, you have one spring for the ring that sits on the lip which is light pressure and allows the tamp to reach the grounds, then once on the grounds, you push a bit harder (30lbs usually) and when you almost bottom that spring out, your coffee is tamped to 'perfection'.The hexagon shaft that the lip rides on is coarsely ground and you can feel it when you press down. And when I say course, it feels like they sanded this thing with 30grit sandpaper. It's bad. This tamp however has about a 38lb spring on the ring that sits on the lip. So when you press it, you are pressing far too much pressure, but into the portafilter, not the coffee. Then once you reach the grounds, it is up to your technique on how much pressure you give the coffee. And since you are already fighting the spring on the portafilter, you are likely going to under tamp the coffee. The only positive I have on this tamp is it does have a nice weight to it and it will give you a level tamp every time. The puck screen I received had some fines in it (metal fines, shavings) so be sure to rinse/wash it out thoroughly. The funnel does exactly what it needs to do, holds the coffee into the basket while you use the WDT tool to get ready for that 'not calibrated' tamp.If you are looking for that double spring calibrated tamper, this is not it. If you are looking to save a few bucks and get a puck screen and dosing ring/funnel, and you don't care about the tamp being calibrated, this may just be right for you.
