Excellent for price
Payed £8 warehouse sale and was worth every penny. Was missing two nuts, hence price.

Built for looks rather than practicality
We usually have a big willow basket next to the fire to hold our logs. I really liked the look of this contemporary matt black anodised metal log holder to use instead, as I thought it would compliment the look of our modern matt black metal inset wood burner. The dimensions of the internal tray of the holder are 38cm wide x 30cm deep. The height inside the tray section of the holder is approx. 15cm. The overall height from the floor to the top of the handle is 50cm.There were a couple of issues putting it together. One of the screws provided to hold the log tray to the handle had a fault on the thread. My husband didn’t have a spare of the same size and colour, so he had to use a silver coloured one instead, which is visible. The main metal casing of the log holder was slightly warped and flimsy when inserting into the handle. Once it was screwed in, this did improve and it became firmer. The thing that let this down the most, was the fact that the two parts of the base, where it meets the handle, hadn’t been lined up properly before welding. This causes the log holder to rock. Some of the welding is a little untidy too. For the price, I would have expected a higher standard of finish.Despite this, I excitedly removed our old willow basket and stood this in its place. It looked absolutely perfect, and I was really happy with the appearance of it. We often use compressed sawdust logs, and loaded some into this. We soon realised that there is nowhere to put our kindling and heat protective gloves. Also, any small bits that invariably fall off the logs when you move them, made quite a mess of the surrounding area. We’ve now put the trusty willow basket back, thrown in all the logs, kindling and gloves, and resigned ourselves to the fact that this log holder is made for looks rather than practicality. I put the log holder on the floor behind my desk while writing my review, and low and behold, one of the cats took a liking to it. I added one of her cushions, and now she uses it as somewhere to hang out when she wants to sit in the same room as me.

Stylish minimal & well built
This log stand is good design for fire sized logs and made of quality steel put together with welds and bolts. It folds flat for storage and opens in seconds without the need for any tools. It’s heavier than the pictures suggest and very sturdy. It matches my log burner, fireside tools and coal scuttle. It’s a bit pricy, but you do get what you pay for.
