Good stuff
I've used this on a few garden buildings now and appears to be working well, it's quite a dark colour, easy to apply but messy, quite greasy until its cured, it has good coverage and penetrates into the wood well.It appears expensive but is much better than cheaper water based shed/fence paints. Will certainly be using again

Brilliant product
Most use two coats when 1st used on new wood, the protection is in the second coat sealing in the 1st coat, the wood soak’s the 1st application in quickly the 2nd coat sets the finish. I used a third coat the following year after the initial treatment. My word didn’t need very much the go over project that time but the quality of finish! Well worth the money. Better than any water base product.

Solvent based coloured external wood preserver
This is one of the few solvent based wood preservers around nowadays. Cuprinol used to make one, but no longer. Solvent based preservative really penetrates the wood, unlike the newer water based ones that really aren't up to the job. The water based ones have low adherence, do not penetrate the wood, and after a couple of years will peel off in bits, so the job will just need repeating again and again.I used the Ronseal product to re-coat a wooden pergola built about 25 years ago. Previously coated with Cuprinol solvent based preservative, which was only now needing re-coating. Hopefully even if the Ronseal will only last half that time, it will be quite acceptable. It is a bit thinner than the old Cuprinol product, so needed at least 2 coats.

Perfect
Decent price, fast dispatch, and very safely packaged and delivered.Much better for maintaining the garden shed than other garden paints - been using it for years and the shed still looks as good as new, with no signs of degradation of the wood

Great product
Soaks right in and really protects the wood from rotting. I painted a test patch on a new shed then didn't get round to completing it for a while the area under where I painted this remained clean while the rest of the shed darkened with mould. Shows this stuff really works.

great for staining a gate
I used this to bring some colour back to some gates that had not been painted or cared for in well over 20 years. in one coat the colour soaked right in and job done! I’ve bought another tin already, highly recommended

Does what it says on the tin!
Arrived promptly the day after ordering.I have used this product before and I have found it to be the best protector for rough external wood. Other products have not given much protection after a couple of years, but this stuff is still effective after five. Ronseal recommend three intial coats and the one additonal coat every three years, so you can see how effective it is. As a protector I tcan horoughly recommend it with the following caveat.Beware that the fumes can cause headaches and sore throats -so it is best applied in the open air. Even then I wear a mask for protection - hence only four stars for this product for ease of application.

Excellent product
This is an excellent product and would recommend to anyone, quick to apply and 2 coats provide an excellent protection for a couple of years. Although the contents of the cannister I received was fine the container was dented very badly all over, even though the container was packaged very well, obviously bad courier service, so will be buying local in future, same price as online.
