Good draw reins, stiff leather
These are great draw reins and a good size for a large horse. These were specifically for a draft-cross who had never been in draw reins before and I was a little worried these would be too short. They weren't -- perfect length. I've always preferred the web draw reins to leather as I feel they are easier to distinguish from the regular reins and hold in place (no slipping). These are a perfect width (narrow enough to fit your hands comfortably, wide enough to keep a good hold on). My only complaint is that the leather is very stiff and difficult to buckle/unbuckle. Someone accidentally unbuckled the two loops and it took me several minutes to get them back together. Even the buckle holding the reins together, that I need to undo and redo each time I thread the draw reins through the bit is more difficult to work with than I'd expect. I hope (and expect) that this will resolve itself with time, use and conditioning.

Excellent!
I like the length, and although the attachment point are a little time-consuming, they are sturdy and I have no concerns about them coming undone or breaking. Love the nylon for those hot days when the horse's sweat would make meather slippery.

Reins are very short....
I bought these reins because another review said they used them on a draft horse and were long. The pair I received are not long at all. My mare is 16.1 registered Paint and there is no extra length when using them. They would be good for a large pony.
