Upon purchasing, I didn't realize that the battery would need to be charged/discharged as many as five times before it became an extended battery replacement. Seems like this prep work could have been done by the manufacturer.After 5 full discharges and recharges, various battery metering programs from Samsung, Accubattery, and Ampere all report a 3500mAh battery. I expected them to report 5000mAh as that is what this kit advertises. Additionally, if I ignore those reporting programs and just rely on my sense for how long the old battery used to last, well I'd say it's just about the same as it was before, not 40% better by any stretch of the imagination.The included instructions are not very good and you are better off looking elsewhere for a DIY video. For example, the instructions indicate to remove all the internal screws to access the battery when in fact you only need to remove the top 8 screws. There are no instructions on how to align/place the back cover glue strip and which plastic piece should be removed first.... this is very frustrating.On the positive side, the kit includes a very nice tool set containing several very helpful items and several items you simply don't need for a battery replacement, like a sim card remover.In conclusion, if you have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ phone battery that is draining too quickly, won't charge properly, or is simply dead, then this kit offers a compatible replacement battery. I wasn't able to realize any extended battery life by switching from the original 3500mAh battery to this 5000mAh replacement.
