My Pocket's New Best Friend.
My Pocket's New Best FriendOkay, confession time: I'm a bit of a knife enthusiast. Not in a "I'm going to survive in the wilderness with only this blade" kind of way (though I probably could!), but more in a "I appreciate a well-made tool that feels right in my hand and performs flawlessly" kind of way. I've gone through my fair share of pocket knives over the years, some good, some... less so. I was looking for something substantial, reliable, and built to last, and after much research, the Spyderco Shaman landed in my pocket. And let me tell you, it's quickly become my new best friend.Right out of the box, the quality is undeniable. The black G-10 handle feels incredibly secure and fills the hand nicely – it's got a texture that provides excellent grip without being overly aggressive. That leaf-shaped blade, made from CPM S30V steel with the black finish? Stunning. And razor sharp, naturally. I've used it for everything from opening stubborn packaging to preparing campfire kindling, and it slices through tasks with an almost effortless precision. The Compression Lock is a revelation. It's incredibly strong and inspires immense confidence when the blade is open, but it's also surprisingly easy and intuitive to close one-handed. The trademark Spyderco round hole makes deployment smooth and quick, whether I'm wearing gloves or not. And the four-position pocket clip means I can carry it exactly how I prefer, which is a small detail that makes a big difference in daily use. This isn't a lightweight, forget-it's-there kind of knife. It's got a solid feel and a bit of heft, which I personally love. It feels like a serious tool, ready for whatever comes its way. It's the kind of knife that makes you look for excuses to use it.If you're looking for a premium, heavy-duty folding knife that combines top-tier materials, exceptional ergonomics, and rock-solid reliability, the Spyderco Shaman is absolutely worth the investment. It's a knife that feels like it was made for work, and it does that job beautifully. My pocket (and my hand) couldn't be happier.

Beast of a knife
Holy cow this knife is a beast. I got this as an upgrade to my para 3 and dang the difference. Note the para 3 is an outstanding knife but my first spyderco was a manix 2 lightweight I fell in love with the ergos of the Manix 2 but loved the compression lock. This is the answer I'd comfortably say that this knife will outmatched the manix 2 any day of the week

Just a few observations and thoughts
Just tossing in my two cents worth. After reading all the reviews posted here at the time of this posting I can say the following. As of 11/26/18 the product description is incorrect, the product picture is correct. I ordered expecting to receive a plain edge version of the Shaman and that is what I received.Second, this is a big, beefy knife. Someone mentioned Cold Steel and after comparing the Shaman to my Cold Steel knives, I can say this knife falls in with the Recon 1, the American Lawman, and the Ak-47 as far as weight and size. Though the Cold Steel knives are a bit lighter, comparing all the knives in hand, it is difficult to tell the difference in weight. To my surprise, I will say that comparing the Shaman to the American Lawman is like looking at cousins. The two knives are similar enough in size, ergonomics, and handle profile that they could have been designed by the same team and manufactured by the same company.A few notes about this knife. The design, while ambidextrous, is biased toward right hand use. After a ton of research on both the compression lock and tri-ad lock, I have seen both fail when pushed far enough or I have seen the knife itself (frame/blade) break before the lock failed. While I could not say that the compression lock is as strong as or better than other locks on the market, I can say that I feel comfortable about using the Shaman for just about any task including light camping chores, and if need be a SHTF knife. I don’t fear for my fingers like I do with a standard liner lock. I find that the size of the Spyderco Hole, is sufficient enough make it easy to open the knife one handed when wearing work gloves or thick gloves, unlike knives with a smaller thumb stud. Typically I carry a knife with assisted opening or pocket draw feature when working with gloves, but I don’t need to with this knife. Finally, this knife feels like a dream in the hand. While there are a few minor things that take away from the perfection of this knife, overall I find the knife to feel like an extension of my hand. It is smooth, sleek, and comfortable in the hand, almost to the point of being elegant.

Spyderco Shaman !!
100% recommend buying from this seller! I ordered late night on a Friday and literally got shipped early morning on Saturday. Originally said it was gonna be arriving over 2 weeks but literally took like 4 days to arrive! It’s legit, a true Spyderco nothing wrong with it! No knife play everything in perfect shape. Again Definitely recommend here.
