Craycort 22.5 inch cast iron cooking grate.
Fits my Weber bbq perfectly-really solid quality and really heavy.Have seared joints then moved away from coals to roast.Looking forward to getting a few steaks going when the summer fully gets going!!One word of warning-needs a bit of TLC-as will rust if not cleaned and re-seasoned.

Makes the Weber 57 COMPLETE
Having succumbed to a Weber 57 after many years of buy and throw BBQ's my enjoyment continued, How ever after going through two cooking grates where the food stuck and the chrome came off and subsequently rusted I saw a review/demo of the CRAYCORT cast iron grate on UTube. So I ordered the grate and two griddle hot plates and the lifting handle via Amazon so keeping the P & P down.Prompt 2 day delivery of the well packed parcel had me cooking in no time. Used lump wood charcoal for direct cooking spraying the grates and griddle plates with one/cal vegetable oil once the BBQ was up to temperature. The results are superb ! The weight of the cast iron grate assembly evens out the heat and helps maintain an even temperature, you can seer meet and vegetables then transfer to the griddle plates for slow indirect cooking.Using small S/S dishes you can heat up baked beans or tined products on the grates. Then oil up the smooth side of the griddle plate for fried eggs.Went adventureous, got two small chickens cut the back bones out and spatch cocked them.Put butchers BBQ rub on and cooked on the griddles indirectly again mouth watering. The CRAYCORT grates have transformed my Weber 57 to an even more versatile outside cooking unit and increased my enjoyment and cooking adventures.( They even fit my Ugly Drum Smoker a double win ) Best non stick product I know too ! Glad summer is due !

Love it.
Great. As well as all the good thinks you can doo with it cooking wise, easier to clean than the wire grills.

Expensive but worth every penny
If you like to bbq on a Weber masterthingy then throw away (or at least put in storage) the grill it came with, and buy one of these instead. You can choose how many grates to use, I typically use 2-3 to give me good access to coals. Will probably last a lifetime, certainly longer than your Weber.

Excellent
I bought a fantastic 57cm Weber kettle but the standard steel food grate does leave room for improvement. This grill gives me great even heat and grill marks when cooking over direct heat. When cooking with indirect heat, the removable segments allow for tending to your fire or adding more coals/wood chips. It feels nice and heavy and adds a bit of flair to your BBQ. Buy the lifting handle from Craycourt too so you will have no probs with the hot segments.

Good buy
Love this grate, gives another option on my 22" kettle, really keeps the heat and can accommodate several different options. Just remove one segment and make it a griddle etc. check out the site.

Easy to clean?? Not if you like marinading your food it isn’t!
Great solid product, fits perfectly, and great for searing your food on!I’ve marked this down to 3 star as it was an absolute nightmare to clean, and this was after I pre-wiped the griddle down with oil. I’m not sure what all the other reviewers were cooking, but the meat can’t have been marinaded that’s for sure!So buy it for the fact that it sears meat well, but just don’t expect an easy cleaning job if you marinade...although very slightly easier to clean than the grate you get with your Webber.

Outstanding Results!
I've been grilling for many years, and I like to think I've been reasonably proficient for most of that time. I've had consistently good results with most things I like to grill, but this grate gives me substantially better results across the board than the wire grate that comes standard with Webber kettle grills. Having used mine several times now, I find myself mourning all the years I did without one of these! Not only does this grate make your bbq grill look way cooler, kinda like nice wheels on a car, but it can really help take your outdoor grilling to a new level! The way the cast iron distributes and retains heat is the key. With the wire grate, I'd get nice sear lines on one side of chops, steaks, etc. only, and tiny differences in the amount of heat coming from the coals underneath meant uneven searing depending on where each chop was situated on the grill. Last night I did lamb chops, and I got beautiful, crisp sear lines on both sides. In addition, the chops cooked uniformly on both sides, not slightly more done on one side than tha other due to dwindling heat from the coals.I've also done ribs and home made sausages, and there was a substantial improvement in my results with those too. One note of caution though: Although the grate is lightly pre-seasoned, I would advise that you take the time to season it a second time before using for the first time. I knew that was a good idea when I got mine, but being the adventurist that I am, I decided to try it out with nothing but a good initial cleaning (water only). As my initial theory predicted lol, the sausages stuck immediately upon hitting the cast iron, requiring a quick loosening with a spatula. No repeats of the problem after that first time though, and a couple racks of ribs and a whole loin's worth of lamb chops later, the grid is doing a perfectly fine job of seasoning itself. There are a few things that some might see as cons, most notably the heft of the thing. But it's that weight and density that gives it those great heat distribution and retention characteristics, so although it takes a little more effort to lift and move around, think of the weight as a plus! The other notable inconveniences are the fact that because of the way you have to get intimate with it to lift and move it (if doing it with your hands), you're gonna get greasy hands, and when the time does come to give it a good cleaning and re-seasoning, it's gonna be a little messier and a little more cumbersome to work with. Fortunately, you won't need to do that often if you season the grate properly.Properly maintaining the cast iron is simple but oh so important. If you don't already have a Grill Daddy Pro grill brush Grill Daddy GD12952c Grill Daddy Pro Grill Brush, do yourself a favor and get one NOW! Take my word for it, it works exactly as described! I was blown away with how clean it got grates with baked on bbq sauce on them the first time I used it, and at how quickly and easily it got the job done. I'd rather have a dysfunctional family of aardvarks nest in my jockey shorts than go back to those stupid grate brushes I've struggled with all these years! One more simple little gadget will help you avoid those greasy hands I was talking about, and it solves the problem of being able to lift grates or the entire grid out of the way when hot if it ever becomes necessary. Check out the Napoleon 62121 Ultra Chef Universal Grid Lifter. Sorry, you'll have to copy/paste that one into the search box, the insert link function isn't working here for some reason. It's simple but effective, and not expensive at all.Anyway, I think you'll be nicely pleased should you decide to purchase this great grate, especially if cooking is an expression of creativity for you as it is for me. It's all about the food, it's all in the details, and this grate can help you to bring the things you've visualized every time you've lit those coals to a dinner or picnic plate near you!I hope some of you find this review helpful... Happy BBQing, and peace to all reading :-)

Echt spitze!

Craycort Cast Iron Grate Review
I've been grilling for years and I just received my Grill Grate last night. I read quite a few reviews before I bought and was nervous it would show up shattered and in pieces. I am going to give an initial review and make periodic updates as I used it.Shipping: Was fast and the delivery guy said it was confusing and top heavy. The box was 5 inches thick for a 1/2 inch thick item so at first I was confused too. There were multiple complaints about the company shipping in only flimsy card board so this was a surprise to me to see such a big box. As I opened it, it was packed with big balloon blow up pillows. They were mashed in there tight and the grill itself was NOT going to be moving in that box. From what I see Craycort took feedback seriously and has gone overkill to make sure it survives the JAWS of shipping. CONCLUSION: 5 stars on shipping CRAYCORT and extra credit for confusing the delivery guy!!Preseasoning: I've read some Negative reviews that food sticks to this and they are definitely NOT non-stick. Since I am a cast iron LOVER I could see that perhaps it may be a 1 coat season and may need more help. As I opened it I could tell it is definitely preseasoned and was almost ....almost tacky but ...wasn't tacky. It is definitely preseasoned. I have cooked a burger on it and it performed admirably and the burger did not stick at all. Perhaps because it's hamburger and has it's own grease..perhaps the other person used a dry piece of raw chicken meat?? Not sure how they got their food to stick to it. Is it the best seasoning I've ever seen, NO... PRE-SEASONING CONCLUSION: This is adequately preseasoned and will only get better and better with use (this coming from someone that has over 30 pieces of cast iron and cooks with it daily)Cooking: anyone that cooks with cast iron knows you don't throw the pan on the stove, turn it on, and throw what ever you are cooking in within 30 seconds unless you want to slowly cook. This is NOT aluminum. Having said that, I was surprised for 2 reasons, one this is cast iron and two it's not solid nor in direct contact with a heat source-yet it heated up very quickly (in my opinion). I read it takes a long time to heat up but once warmed up it works well. I would dare say I started to heat up, walked in to grab a frozen burger patty (for a test) and put it on once I walked back out. To my surprise and delight it sizzled in a very short (again my perception) amount of time. Keep in mind the sizzle wasn't immediate black char on a frozen burger, it was ice going straight to boiling off COOKING CONCLUSION: This heats up wonderfully and cooks a great burger!!Opinion. I LOVE the way this grill looks. From my limited experience it is visually high quality and from handling it physically the fit, finish and casting is of a great quality. I have seen many castings from China and others and you can see where sloppy work was either ground off or jagged edges left as is. From a quick inspection I did not notice any sloppy or corrected work, it was cast correctly the first time. OPINION CONCLUSION: I would suggest getting this for anyone serious about grilling or if you just want to start your grilling experience off on a higher level.I can't wait to spoil myself, friends, family and neighbors with this Grate. I'll update after I've used it more
