54 plate Ford Mondeo ST220Installation: If you intend to fit this yourself, ensure you have plenty of previous experience fitting this kind of equipment. The package does not come with any cage or brackets compatible with Ford vehicles. There is a pair of brackets included for Nissan owners. Removal of the dashboard center is necessary. This includes the fan vents, clock, air con controller panel, drinks holder, electric window control panel. Removed the center of the dash completely from the car. Inserted the nx302e into the double din hole of the center dash. Aligned stereo flush with new fascia (not supplied) in center dash and drilled holes through plastic center dash in line with holes on the side of the stereo. Sourced bolts long enough to secure stereo in place and packed with spacers. Rebuild dashboard. If you want to use existing steering wheel or factory fitted stalk controls you will need to source the correct wiring converter.Everyday Use: Touch screen is not in iPhone/iPod territory. It works fine but doesn't always respond how you would expect. iPhone 4 connected to Bluetooth ok, but it took half a dozen attempts to connect a 3GS. Bluetooth audio does NOT work with iPhone 3GS, 4 or 4s (Unless someone can tell me otherwise). However, Bluetooth audio did work with HTC One. USB audio requires the device to be formatted FAT32 (pretty much standard) but this does not guarantee playback. Make sure your music ID Tags are all in order and you will be fine. The USB audio also requires me to unplug the USB device each time the stereo is powered off, and this really irritates me. Audio wired iPhone/iPod works very well, I cannot fault this feature. Bluetooth Parrot link to phone works very well, clear conversation. The navigation is the great, probably the best I've seen.Summary:Bad: Fitting, not for amateurs and be prepared to lose a day to a day and a half. Clunky touchscreen. Bluetooth audio not working with iPhones. Having to unplug my USB stick and replug it in everytime! Grrr why???Good: The user interface is really simple and easy to navigate. If you don't like something where it is by default the system is fully customizable so you can put a short cut where you want it. Wired iPhone/iPod playback is great. Parrot telephone system is faultless. The built in navigation is awesome! its that good I can forgive the USB and bluetooth audio issues.Although the system is not completely perfect the pro's far out way the con's, for me anyway.
