Who knew of the post war Russian football tour?
I'd never heard of this tour til I read a review of the book. Fascinating and the attitudes have been seen all too recent. Imagine how it would have been managed with satellite TV. Very interesting

The Red Peril
A really good read about a class of two cultures and how to play the game. The arrogance and patronisation of the English Press was unbelievable ! the same attitude prevailed before we played Hungary. The book is well researchedand written, a really enjoyable read.

Gripping
A good historical book, interesting to both students of football and students of post-war Europe. Never dry, but an enlightening tale of "what it was like" and how Russian football began. Not an epic tale of heroism but a very interesting tale not ruined by knowing the results of the games already.
