Slave to the Grind

When my 15 year old niece was asking to borrow my skid row CD you know they have had a semi-decent musical upbringing! Glad a new generation will get to enjoy it all over again! Shame I couldn't find my copy to loan, so had to reinvest! Was really happy with the speed and quality of CD and delivery😀

Better than youth gone wild which was also good but can't beat the consistent bitter,rebellious nature of the form of slave to the grind!

Skid Row were a band I first heard on the radio with the brilliant rock ballad '18 and life' which seems a lifetime ago now,but I never had any material so decided to give their 1991 album 'Slave To The Grind' a go.It's a rockin' piece of work for the most part,especially the opening few tracks but the real gems here are the ballads which few bands do so well as Skid Row.......songs like 'Quicksand Jesus',the dark and haunting 'In A Darkened Room' together with 'Wasted Time' all showcase Sebastian Bachs searing vocals and Scotti Hills beautiful guitar solos,overall it's glorious stuff.This album gets a lot of airplay and rightfully so,it's just great.

So glad I bought the upgrade from cassette.Good price, great quality.

Hard/heavy rock with strong melodies!

I was about 5 when this came out and heard tracks on the radio for all this time. Finally bought it and what an album it is!
