Transformers Armada: The Collector's Edition [DVD]

This is a very good quality (and good value) box set for those who enjoyed the high points of Transformers Armada, but don't want to spend lots on buying the complete series.Included are 12 episodes, spead over 2 discs.Disc 1:21 Decisive Battle25 Tactician31 Past, part 132 Past, part 238 Threaten39 CrisisDisc 2:42 Miracle45 Dash48 Cramp50 Union51 Origin52 Mortal CombatSo this is mainly the Unicron Battles part of the series.Also included is a postcard with an Armada version of the "Protect-Destroy" poster from the 2007 live-action movie, and pdf scripts of the inlcuded episodes are available as DVD-ROM content.

Having not taken to Armada in its earlier episodes, I decided to buy this 'definitive' DVD to see what happens.Three episodes in to the DVD I'm still not really warming to this continuity in the way I did to the old G1 cartoon, the newer films and Animated.What I found frustrating was the lack of character bio's on the first disk or even as a pull out in the box, it took the best part of half an episode to get one of the characters names (Blurr) since I obviously hadn't watched the whole series.Overall, if you're a newcomer to Transformers I'd say go with the Animated Region 1 complete series collections over Armada which I'm finding a bit too hard to get through (Some of the voices are miscast and they grate) and the plot is vaguely reminiscent of Pokemon (Gotta catch those Mini-cons). If you're new to Transformers I'd say give this set a shot but fans of the old G1 cartoon will probably find it hard to link these characters to their previous appearances (The aforementioned Blurr being one of the worst offenders).Worth watching for David Kaye as Megatron though as mentioned before a lot of the other voices are forgettable.Edit:All right, having now sat through the 'whole' box set I can admit to be very disappointed with this collection since it seems to miss out a lot of key episodes that appear vital in explaining a lot of things (Like which SIDE half the characters are on!).

If you are a fan, definitely it is a must to buy it. I wish there was an subtitle option.

just ordered it and made the mistake of not reading how many episodes were inside and wondered why it was so cheap, but yh make sure cuz it isn't the entire box set WHICH IT SHOULD SAY!!!!

My 7 year old son was delighted with this dvd he is a big transformers fan even before the new movies came out.
