Product Good, Labeling a like confusing
I returned the filter because I thought it was the wrong filter. However, it was the right filter. The labeling was confusing. I reported this to the manufacturer and they are correcting the packaging labeling. I received a replacement filter and installed it. It is working perfectly! So, there was nothing wrong with original filter that I ordered, just labeling problem.

Awesome filter, unfortunate design choice
I really like all of the features of this spin down filter. Installation is super easy. Automatic cleaning makes this so much more convenient than others. The quality of the product is excellent. I also really like the idea of having a pressure gauge to let me know when it's time to clean. The only problem I have is that the pressure gauge is on the side. In my case, the filter has to be installed such that the filter is against the wall. If the gauge was on top, it might be backwards, but at least you would be able to see it.

The folks that have wells, know how much work these do.
I got the 300 micron filter by BriskSpring. It's an Automatic Cleaning Filter Screen, Spin Down Sediment Water Filter, Lead Separation Process, 1" MNPT + 3/4" FNPT, 300 Micron Reusable Whole House Water Filter System for Well Water!Okay, if you have a well on your property and have for some time, you know the little things that can happen with well water. You can get things collecting behind your little screens in your faucets. It is tiny tiny little rocks that by themselves don't do much of anything, but you start adding them up and they clog things up pretty quickly. Will water in my opinion, is the best. However, you do have some things you have to work with to be able to have it flowing well. This filter is really a necessity. It can make your life so much easier by installing it and keeping up on making sure it's cleaned out and doing its part. This filter is made very well they used quality materials and nothing feels flimsy or light on it. Depending upon your level of confidence with plumbing you may want to hire someone to come in and do it for you or if you're comfortable you can install this yourself. Most times people that are on Wells have had enough experience with their well system and pumps and such that they know their pipes pretty well. LOL. If that's the case then go ahead and get this installed because it will save you a ton of headaches down the road. I would recommend this to anyone that has a well on their property it really is a good working prefilter. One of the best that we have used in our long line of properties with Wells. If you have a well, get the 300 micron. If you have city water, get the 40 micron.

5 Large Stars... Impressive Filter, Exceeded My Expectations
So I've had this in use for probably 2 and a half or three weeks now. Installed quickly and easily and everything is extremely high quality. I have come to appreciate the pressure gauge, and the simple way this filter is essentially self cleaning. Not quite that straightforward of course (you need to initiate the cleaning and make sure the screen basket is properly seated) but I can already see how quickly and easily this filter gets rid of sand and larger debris which is exactly what I needed. Mine is installed outside in a box, so I do plan to put the freeze resistance to the test - but I will also be winterizing the line and so it should be fine.I went with the 300 Micron variant, and it has performed beautifully in every respect so far. No leaks, no issues, just a happy customer. I would suggest that the instructions you receive with this filter are decent and easy to follow, but if you're totally new to plumbing and such get a contractor's help.It is definitely is a little different than any other similar kind of filter I have used before (and unfortunately I've used four or five over the last 15 years at different locations!). This is the best of the bunch as far as I'm concerned and at a great price point for what you get.I would suggest my only complaint is that I am not crazy about the connection at the bottom of the filter for the flushing action. I wish they would have made that a more standardized size so I could have put on half inch pex or something like that rather than the microtubing standard but I can't complain too much. It works great. I very highly recommend this filter.

Good hard water pre filter before hot water tank
If you have some plumbing know how this is a straightforward install. I don’t have standard waterline plumbing (pex under a mobile home) so I had to do some fittings engineering to add this to my line. My shutoff valve was on a vertical climb so the fun part was cutting the line and fighting full pressure to slip on a quick valve on the straight pipe. But after installing the filter and opening up the valve it worked like a charm. I’ll be draining once a month due to our moderate hard water and even more if needed. But this makes a great pre filter before our hot water heater. I had to auger out the sediment every three months to keep the the hot water heater clean from sand and sediment. I am hoping with this pre filter that I will see a huge difference when I go to do my next auger.

Good PreFilter System
For anyone who has well water on their property, they know having sediment coming up from the well past the pumps filter can be a problem. It will eventually clog up the little screens on your water faucets and start to restrict the flow. The sediment particles can also mess with the valve system on your water conditioner if you have two tanks with automatic valve switching. This 300 micron pre-filter far surpasses most the other 40 micron spin down pre-filters. And because of that I am planning on putting 2 filters (40 and 300 micron) in series so not to overburden any one filter at a time. I have not done that yet, but looking forward to it with not much more work besides a short pipe between them. This is a well-made unit made of high quality materials and has been pretested to over 800 psi which is important as well system pressure stress components more with fluctuating pressures as the pump kick on and off. Out of the units I compared this to, it looks like the best of all of them.

Fantastic filter
Plastic makes it easy to see what’s going on. Super easy to remove the bottom and clean it out.
