Me Without You

It Can't Be Anything Less Than Five Solid Stars
Such a soul gripping, heart wrenching, sweet, and loving romance. Lilah and Callum...Sigh...The author created an amazing novel. You will laugh, get angry, and cry reading this. Then when it's all over you will reflect on the novel and feel all those emotions all over again. The chemistry between Lilah and Callum was remarkable. The dialogue between the characters was very well written and ran smoothly. Their personalities and differences are so opposite you would never think there's any way those two could ever manage to be in the same room without strangling each other but at last opposites do attract. Novels that touches the heart and makes yours break just by reading it is some of the best. It takes a great author to be able to bring forth such strong emotions in a reader. Koodles to the wonderful job Ms. Rimmer created with this novel. I would highly recommend this as a MUST read. Just make sure you have tissue handy, get ready to laugh, have your heart soar with love, then shattered, and hopefully in the end find some solace.

Good book
A story about two professional people who can't be more different from each other from her being vegetarian and him not, to Lilian walking barefoot as much as possible to him keeping his chest waxed and hair trimmed regularly.Callum is cynical on relationships and Lilian flat doesn't want one but yet they can't stay away from each other until the day out of the blue Lilah leaves after Callum and her had been getting along so well.Throughout Lilah's journal's entry's will refer to something she is afraid is coming back. A reason she knows she cannot allow things to get serious between the two of them but does not share with Callum. After the break up her mom calls after a small period of time and tells him Lilah needs him and if he loves her he has to be prepared for her sickness. It is at this time finally we find out that Lilah has Huntington Disease and that is why she tried keeping their relationship simple then ended was so he wouldn't have to go through it with her.The book was a very good read even though it had a sad ending it also had many good things happen at the end due to the love the couple had for each other and some steps Lilah arranged prior to her death and Callum followed through with plus built onto.Again, well worth your time to read.

The Best Love Story, Ever!
There are so many reviews that tell the story of this book, so I don't feel I need to go into detail about the couple in this book, but I will say that it was the best book I have read in a long time. Wow! This author writes so beautifully; nothing sounds corny or adolescent in her writing. And I only say that because I understood this to be her first book. I read The Secret Daughter by the same author, and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to read more from her. This was the most beautiful love story of all time. Can't say enough about it. She elicited emotions I forgot I had. The couple, Callum and Lilah, are so cute together: complete opposites, yet so well-suited. Their dialogue is funny, witty, clever, etc. I fell in love with both of them so I was along for the ride. After reading the very first segment writtin by Lilah, the reader will pretty much know what is going to happen at the end of the book, but it really doesn't matter. You cannot stop reading. Laugh, cry, feel, and enjoy! Excellent!

Heartfelt Read
Anyone who has met someone who turned your life around will find a strong connection to this book. This story would make a great movie. If you saw the Notebook and loved it, you would love this book. The characters are so realistic that you will have difficulty believing this story is fiction. This is my favorite work from this author so far.

Me Without You
I almost didn't finish this book. I found it a bit boring for the first half. Plus I was so frustrated with Lilah as to how someone could be so bossy and spoiled. Everything had to be her way. But then everything clicked and made sense. I grew to love all the characters in the story.

Excellent book.
I love the way she develops her characters but this book was about Huntingtons Disease so it was a little “dark”

Heart wrenching and very thought provoking. The twist in the end got me. Love Kelly Rimmer as an author. Love that she’s Australian

Incredibly moving
A story of love in the face of adversity which examines the questions of dedication and trust in a relationship and sheds light on an affliction that is perhaps not well known to the public at large. I had heard of it but knew nothing about it. Good characterization involves the reader in the characters' lives and the narrative structure is such that you cannot put it down. It had me in bits, but I couldn't stop reading.

A gem!
What a wonderful story!Deeply emotional, extremely moving, but never cheesy, extremely real and sad, but with a not so subtle joy for life underlining the devastating circumstances. Like Moyes' Me Before You, Nicholls' One Day, and the more recent Rowan Coleman's The Memory Book this is a book about love and life, and not about illness and evil fate. It's extremely well written, and words just flow in a stream of emotions, from the character's heart to the reader.I loved it, and I can definitely say it will be in my top ten best reads for 2016.I will definitely read more by this fantastic author.

Excellent write, brought me to tears!
I am an avid reader to the extent of reading 3-4 books per week. It is unlikely for me to sleep well if I do not read before sleeping, and usually during work lunch hours, as well as any spare time grabbed on train travel, or in between events. Therefore, at the extent of this amount of reading, it is rare that a book will move me as much as Me Without You did. Since purchasing a Kindle, it is far easier to expand exploring through new authors that I may not have both a physical copy of before, and of course - fr always having the option of reading something when on the go.Lilah & Callum's story unweaves right from that first meeting on board the ferry. Having lived in Sydney myself, and made trips to Manly, the descriptions of scenery were kept exquisite and only served to make me want to return as soon as I could - not looking at all likely in the near future unfortunately.Little hints are dropped all through the storyline as to what's to come, but you're never sure - I had her "secret" 100% and had no idea the blow that was to drop on me as I became more and more involved. Lilah is quirky, particular, passionate and difficult to commit to anything. Callum, on the other hand, you instantly see as someone who needs to take a step back from the madness of the rat race, and find someone who'll drag him out of his comfort zone - Lilah does just that, disconcertingly for him.Their story is made up of love, anger, sadness, joy, exploration, friendship, heartbreak and family. An incredible tale woven skillfully by Kelly Rimmer - I'll certainly be exploring other reading options of hers, if she has more books written. Also, few, so few books make me cry - I was openly in tears at the end of this one. Could not recommend more - five stars for this one!
