Q: Says waterproof...can I use underwater attached to my boat trailer so it lights up the trailer under water so I can it when docking at night?

Other answer is wrong. Waterproof should be able to submerge water resistant cannot be submerged. In order to be waterproof it must be ip69 i believe this is ip65 which would not be submergible

Q: Do we have to plug it or is it battery operated?

You could power it with a 12v battery (as from a car), but normally you would power it with a small 12v transformer with at least 200 ma capacity and that is purchased separately.

Q: Are these lights dimmable?

Sure you can lower the voltage to dim them! It's just that it's not a linear relationship between voltage and brightness. The light shuts off at about 6-7V, not 0V. The hard part for non-electrical people is how to make such a circuit. The better way to dim them is to use a pulse-width modulator (PWM) to rapidly turn the lights on and off, which your eye sees as being dimmer.
