Love this little sleep machine!
We love this little thing! After playing around with it and getting familiar with the settings and customizations, it is my favorite sleep device we’ve used yet and worth the money. It did take some work to figure out how the routines worksThings I like:—I can fully customize the bedtime and nap routines with night lights and brightness, sound machine preferences, wake up lights, etc.—Once it’s set, I don’t have to do anything! It automatically cuts on and off for winding down and naps and bedtime. I even set it to where the nightlight stays on but the moon projection turns off at a certain point in the night so it doesn’t wake up our toddler once she falls asleep.—It is compact and has a long lasting battery life which makes it easily transportable and easy to take on trips.—if something needs to be adjusted I can easily change it from my phone via the app.

Better than the hatch!
I love the level of customization you have with this! You can connect to it via Bluetooth and play custom songs and recordings. We had a hatch for about 5 years before it finally died and replaced it with this. Honestly, its more affordable and a lot more user friendly! You can also pick a wide variety of different colored lights. My daughter loves the projection of stars and the moon on her ceiling as well!

Couldn't live without it
My toddler has a hard time sleeping on her own but this thing has helped her tremendously. She absolutely loves the projector and all the added functions are a total bonus. I knocked one star off because I had some issues with it disconnecting from bluetooth but it always resolves on its own eventually.

A cheaper alternative to those pricier baby machines
I have two of these (one for each kid) and it has been so fun and convenient to use! I love the app it comes with on the phone to change settings. The various sounds, lights, and projection images have been some of my kids' favorites!

Uncomfortably bright, needlessly complicated, and glitchy
This is a far inferior product to the hatch light, which costs a few bucks more. We have had both this vtech contraption and the hatch, and there is truly no comparison. We bought this thing to replace a hatch light that our toddler broke (it was 4 years old and didn’t like being turned into a football). We tried this one for about a week before giving up. Truly, I was frustrated every single time I used this product and our kid wasn’t sleeping through the night all of a sudden because this thing kept actually waking him up. I wanted to love it…but it’s a no.Our primary complaint was the light is not able to be dimmed nearly low enough to be comfortable for sleep. Even at the lowest setting available (5%), it was super bright in our son’s room.True, it has tons of “fun” features, like projections and stories, but…they are super frustrating to use. The projections can’t be dimmed at all and are also very bright. Then, the buttons controlling the machine are needlessly complex and are very small. Similarly, the app to control it from your phone is SUPER glitchy and not at all user friendly.Sounds and stories: Amusingly, we found the stories had some outdated language (like…any story featuring a donkey contains the word “ass” several times, which is okay until your kid starts saying “ass” all the time in public. There are like 10 ass stories, btw). The music quality was actually pretty nice, but almost impossible to navigate to without the app- and only one person can have the app, which makes it hard on your partner if you aren’t there and your kid wants some Mozart. Even once you do finally get to the music, though, it is bizarrely quiet compared to the white noises, which were quite loud. The white noises also didn’t have consistent volumes between the tracks, so 40% volume with “campfire” was comfortable, but would make your ears bleed with, say, “river.”Anyways, you can probably tell this product didn’t make the cut for us. We went with the Hatch Rest 2 after returning this thing, and are so relieved. Our kid can sleep again! Sure, the hatch has fewer bells and whistles, but what it does have is so much higher in quality.

Buy the hatch… what is a $20 difference when this thing is so frustrating
The media could not be loaded. I had high expectations for this as it offers so much more than the hatch at a cheaper price. I haven’t been extremely satisfied as I think the app needs some help. There isn’t a way to turn the light on if you have a routine playing (even if the toddler lock is off) because there isn’t a button for that on the device itself. You can turn the volume up and down but that’s it. When there is no routine running you can adjust the light but you can’t change the color unless you double click to the next saved “favorite mode.” But the favorite modes are automatically set up and you can’t have a personalized favorite mode to my knowledge although I’ve spent plenty of time in the app fiddling with the features and I consider myself to be average tech savvy. It has a slight vibration/humming when the music plays on higher volume. Also it says you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker to play whatever music you’d like from your phone but even when I called customer service we were on the phone for an hour and a half and could not set up Bluetooth. My app didn’t even have the Bluetooth button that the lady kept showing me how to locate, like it wasn’t there at all. I have an iPhone 15 pro and no update was available in the app. I was told my device is faulty and should return it but the company didn't hold up to their 1 year warranty and just said there’s nothing they can do, I need to do it through Amazon even though I was on the phone with the company??? Like make it make sense… I wasn’t happy with how they resolved that issue. I am keeping it cuz I already recycled the box and don’t want the trouble but I would’ve rather chosen the hatch hands down. It also kept cutting off every time my routine would switch from lullabies to white noise. I had to go in the app and turn off the “fade out” setting and make sure the lullabies and white noise were set to the same volume and it did fix itself. But like I want my music to fade out and my white noise to fade in and I can’t have that so it just doesn’t live up to the hype. 3 stars is honestly kinda generous but it is serving its purpose
