Works without installing additional app with the Google Pixel XL with a bit of finagling.
Followed instructions (Turned on, set my phone to pairing mode) Did not find it, Uh Oh! Turned remote off, then on again. A hex (MAC?) address appeared as an input device. Set my phone to pair with it, during pairing the hex address was replaced with "AB_Shutter3" and paired successfully.Fired up the camera app, and pressed the small "Android" button. Nothing happened. Hmmm. Pressed the iOS button and pic was taken. Pressed it several times in quick succession, captured a pic every time! That's because of the awesome camera on the Pixel, but it's great that the remote shutter can keep up with it.Exited the camera app and pressed the shutter to see what would happen - Volume up. The volume keys (up or down) are set by default to take a pic on the Pixel. Just to confirm, went back to the camera app and set the volume keys to control zoom. Clicked the shutter and it zoomed in. No matter which buttons on the remote I pressed, it wouldn't zoom out. so best to leave it as default and ignore the smaller android button.It has a loop to attach a wrist strap or lanyard to, but neither is included unfortunately. Not a big deal, but would have been a nice addition.

I used it 3 times, broke the third time I used it yesterday. Just my luck, the return window closed yesterday, so I just have a useless stick. Get what you pay for I supposed. :/

Buttons are stiff - which isn't a problem unless you're trying to record with your hands busy and use your toes or something else like I do haha connects through keyboard so you won't be able to use they keyboard or type on Snapchat unless it's off.
