Great story telling
Great story telling! Some reviews stated that there were too many characters in the story and it was confusing, but my impression was they were introduced with just enough detail and not all difficult to keep track of. The book is a little slow at the beginning but builds nicely, as a spy story should, as the story progresses. A very solid read overall with twists and turns to keep its exciting. Mark Sullivan presents an excellent expression of descriptions, details, and character development. I will be reading more of his Robin Monarch series!

Annoyed
Just got to chapter six and the book started out good, then the author starts calling a pistol magazine a "clip" over and over again, and now I'm annoyed. If you are going to write novels in this genre, you absolutely need to now the difference between a magazine and a clip. A distinct difference. Then he writes, "coming up with the second clip, and slamming it into the magazine." Are you kidding me?After reading one of the best stories I've ever read in Beneath a Scarlet Sky: A Novel, I started looking for more from this author, but seeing this makes me wonder if he's out of his league with this genre.

Gabriel Allon intertwines with Robin Hood
Wasn’t the greatest spy novel this aficionado has ever read, but wht I really liked was the fact that Robin was an really anti-hero. His background was unlike any spy hero’s I’ve read before. Therefore, his behavior and motives, though in the truest sense, were genuinely admirable, his Robin Hood like actions made the title totally accurate. I would read more of Robin and his friends in the future

Very boring
just disjointed action....many places, but very little connecting the story line. The author tried to create a bigger than life hero but Monarch simply is not that.

The kind of writing one has come to expect from Sullivan - flawless. However, I was sometimes muddled when it came to some parts
and memorable, though. I had just finished reading Sullivan's book on Italy during World War II, so it's hard to compare anything to the excellence of that.

"What A Dramatic Life Robin Monarch Has Lived"
This is a remarkable thriller you'll find hard to put down. Robin Monarch was once a top level CIA operative ... that is until he just walks away during an operation. Now, who is he? He's a thief stealing from the super-rich. But he's caught in a trap and is forced to complete the operation he had walked away from. The mission: obtaining the secret archives of Al-Qaeda. Well written and fast action.

Great book
Somewhat confusing, lots of twist and turns. Finally, I caught on and could not put this book down. The author has as boatload of information in his head and I am looking forward to the second book of this series.

Very good story
I read the author's book BENEATH THE SCARLET SKY and so enjoyed it that I bought his book, ROGUE. I started reading the book and I realized it was about a CIA operative and I baulked about reading the book as I don't like CIA stories however I continued to read the book and I found myself quite absorbed in the story. I have now finished reading the book and I can honestly say that I found it informative, good reading and enjoyable. Thank you.

a thrilling read
A great story. I kept turning the pages much longer than usual. All the characters are well drawn; the good guys are likable and the others ...well, would not be my friends either.

A great read
Fast action thriller, couldn't put it down. Kept my attention right to the end. Lost a point on the passwords. Does Mr Sullivan not realize passwords change regularly? However this overlooked, it did not deter my enjoyment of a brilliant read. When's the movie or tv series?
