"Collected Classics!" :)
This "Trilogy" collection is for "Moodies" fans (Or those who want an introduction to The Moody Blues) who want just a little more than the double CD sets, "The Moody Blues Anthology" and "Gold," can offer, but not as much as the "Time Traveller" boxed set, if that makes sense! :)In a way, "Collected" is an extension of "Anthology" and "Gold." However there are certain tracks replaced with tunes not usually featured on Moody Blues compilations ... Here, we get a pair of Ray Thomas compositions, including the "Days Of Future Passed" CD mix of the cheerful "Another Morning." I enjoy "Dr. Livingstone, I Presume," just as much as "Legend Of A Mind," and on this collection, the former track is crossfaded beautifully with "Voices In The Sky". The lovely "Emily's Song" and "Vintage Wine" also appear, two pleasant and enjoyable tracks. All of the selected Justin Hayward solo efforts and John Lodge's "Carry Me" are all perfect choices to add to the "Moodies Mix." It was also a treat to be served the outstanding "Caught Live +5" tracks, "King And Queen" and "What Am I Doing Here?" Nice to find "A Simple Game" receiving recognition too, even though the mix chosen was the shorter version, from "This Is The Moody Blues," instead of the full version from the "In Search Of The Lost Chord" SACD set. The three tunes from the Denny Laine era, including the hit "Go Now," were nice additions, as well. A gigantic plus to this collection is that "This Is The Moment," from the rare bonus disc in the "Time Traveller" set, returns here! Collectors of "Time Traveller" who missed out on the edition with the bonus disc, can now listen to this beautiful track on "Collected." :)Most of the other songs on "Collected" feature album tracks taken from "Time Traveller" (Ex: The vinyl version of "Tuesday Afternoon") ... Upon listening closely to the way some of the tracks were crossfaded and edited (Ex. "Never Comes The Day"/"Are You Sitting Comfortably" and the "To Our Children's Children's Children" selections), you can tell the same mixes were used. Also the running order of tracks, by album, sometimes appear out of sequence, making for a refreshing change. Plus, once again, the non-orchestral mix of "Nights In White Satin" makes an appearance. :)A shame certain essential Moodies tracks like "Steppin' In A Slide Zone," "Sitting At The Wheel," and "Highway" were left out, plus "I Really Haven't Got The Time" and "Leave This Man Alone" (from the early singles) were neglected again. At least "Fly Me High," "Love And Beauty," and the stereo version of "Cities" were showcased again, since "The Singles+." Who knows ... Maybe there will be another 3-disc Moody Blues collection to come, just like "Anthology" followed up with "Gold." :)To sum up, "Collected" is the one CD set that captures The Moody Blues' music from the "Magnificent Moodies" all the way through to "December" ... I don't believe any Moody Blues compilation accomplished this before, so if you want a collection that features the many styles, stages, and sounds of The Moody Blues, in a nutshell, "Collected" is worth collecting! Thanks for reading! God Bless... :)

Combines Time Traveller Box Set with Dutch Hits Plus, and Then a Dash of Something Special.
I have always considered the Moodies a "spinach" band. As a kid I hated them, but the decades have rolled on and, somehow, I now enjoy both. In fact I became a diehard fan roundabout 2005, and now own all their studio albums. But I digress. We are discussing collections, of which there are several, some better than others. As of this writing, Collected is the best.I was mightily impressed that they one-upped the Time Traveller Box set by including such tracks as Ray Thomas's "The Morning: Another Morning," John Lodge's "Emily's Song," and Justin Hayward's "Vintage Wine." We also get rarities, such as "New Horizons," "King and Queen," "What am I Doing Here," and "This is the Moment," all Justin songs, I will admit, but naysayers know that he and John Lodge pretty much took over the band when Mike Pinder was having his identity crisis.Other highlights include "It's Not On" from Justin's 1977 solo album Night Flight when I would have preferred "Face in the Crowd" and "Carry Me" from John Lodge's not-so-great Natural Avenue. The true pleasures? Like Hit's plus, disc three features early Moody tunes featuring original lead vocalist and future McCartney sideman Denny Laine on the classic "Go Now" and--my personal favorite--"Boulevard De La Madelaine." "Fly Me High," "Love and Beauty," and "Cities," all showcase the genesis of what the Moodies were blossoming into once Justin replaced Laine, and we get the pleasant surprise of "Simple Game" on this collection to close it out. I haven't seen it anywhere else except This is the Moody Blues and a "core seven" two-disc set.For a 54 track, 3-disc box set full of timeless music, you can't beat the price or the great way in which this was compiled, give or take a few selections I would have preferred to some others. So, the question is this: Are you sitting comfortably? Then let the Moodies cast their spell, and enjoy!

Collected As Advertised
Another Moody Blues compilation but in reality it has a great mix of hits and album tracks. a few not found on other best of collections. I still prefer the compilation "This Is The Moody Blues" as the best compilation available by this band but this one covers the earlier periods and later periods with solo tracks as well. It is a good listen & highly recommend this 3 CD disc set. I collect this band and added this to my collection after holding up for some time but it is pretty good for someone who wants to listen to their career without spending a lot of money on their box sets.Drop by my website some at "JudeMac Forever" & look around, always something for everyone.

The perfect affordable way to get almost everything!
The Time Traveler set is EXPENSIVE - for some reason this is very reasonably priced. I ordered from the UK and it arrived in 2 1/2 weeks at about $15 so it is like stealing the music. As for the product, you are getting a cardboard / paper package with some plastic, and one of the discs is in a pocket. But I ripped mine to a Vault 2i and put the CD in storage so I don't mind that at all.The remastering is very clean, but not so different that it seems like different versions of your favorite Moody Blues songs. It really sounds like you REMEMBER them sounding, but they didn't really sound like. In other words, we remember our favorite songs from yesteryear as being clean and clear and not muddy, but a lot of them were muddy and muddled and not very clear at all. This is clear without being so crisp that it sounds changed. I hope that makes sense.Great CD set for anyone looking through their music collection and realizing that the two Moody Blues CD's that they own leaves huge gaps in their collection and wants to fill it out. Now I have all the Moody Blues I need and want. And it barely cost me any more than a single CD.

THE MOODY BLUES SON Y SERÁN UNOS CLÁSICOS.
Es cierto que en todas las recopilaciones según muchas opiniones faltan temas, en este caso así es pero es difícil en el caso de los Moody Blues porque son geniales.Salvo el disco December todas sus obras son magníficas.Un 10 para esta banda de Birminghan.
