Super Fun/Good Quality
The media could not be loaded. I had so much fun with this. I was surprised at the great quality for the price. I really took my time with it and had hours and hours of enjoyment. Personally, I didn't find the instructions that confusing. Towards the end maybe a bit, but you'll figure it out. I also didn't have one broken piece. The instructions say to use an exacto knife to help remove the pieces. I just cut the tiny pieces of wood holding each piece in on both the front and back, then gently pushed or turned each cutout. I do have some tips. 1) Have quick dry craft glue and AA batteries ready. It says they can't include them when shipped overseas. 2) I recommend tweezers, scissors, an exacto knife, lightweight crafter's clips to hold a few items together as they dry, and furniture paint touch-up markers. One light wood, one dark wood. They came in handy for areas that don't come painted, but still might be seen in some angles and for areas that you'll sand down. 2) Take your time and sand the areas that attached the wood cutouts. It looks so much more polished.3) Play around with the pieces a bit to make it unique. I mixed up tiny pages, left folders open, switched places for a couple of things, etc.—small things that made more sense to me. It's your craft and you don't have to follow the directions exactly.4) Glue the light wires along the top instead of using the tape it comes with. They stay better. The end product is so impressive you'll feel a good sense of accomplishment and get a lot of compliments. Good luck!

A Great Project that Rewards Patience and Care
I've built a half-dozen book nooks from various companies, but this one stands alone and apart from all the rest. It's a meticulous, detailed kit that would do nothing but cause frustration for anyone expecting a light and easy project to fill a few hours. This kit takes a minimum of 40 hours to complete. The pieces are tiny, fragile, and require great care to position and glue correctly. There are dozens of sub-assemblies to complete before the final project starts to take shape. The instructions are really not that bad, but because of the small size of many of the pieces and the difficulty of illustrating every little thing, there are periods of time where you need to carefully test fit everything and then not glue until you're able to tell later precisely if you did the work correctly. This is not a project for a kitchen table top where kids are running by and other activities need to be done -- this is best done in a quiet hobby room, under good light, with some relaxing music, and perhaps a glass of wine ... but not two glasses of wine. If you put in the time and care and really pay attention, the reward is a book nook unlike anything else. It's theme and the level of detail really set it apart from the crowd. You'll be deeply proud of your work and want to show it off to others as one of the year's really memorable accomplishments. But brace yourself for a long commitment to a project that could easily spill over several weeks of evenings.

This book nook is *extremely* poor quality compared to others
I liked the theme of this book nook so I purchased it,. The pictures were 'ehh' but I know how those things go and these tend to look a lot better in person. I've done a few of these so I have some comparisons to draw from. First thing I noticed was the wood was extremely thick for one of these puzzles which would make you think "Oh, less likely to snap pieces, ok." Except it isn't. The makers of this puzzle strategically laser cut about 50% of the depth of the wood and put the joints in the weakest parts of the piece. So they have a thin piano trim and accents in the beginning that are almost certain to snap and if you're lucky it wont gouge out the wood. There are many pieces like that but I just cut my losses after a while. Every piece I removed required pushing, prodding, and trying to be as delicate as possible to mitigate damage. It will still almost certainly snap on you. You would need an Xacto knife to cut through each of the pieces and you will likely need to sand or file most of them anyway. The printing on the pieces is also extremely poor, the best way I can describe it is the equivalent to a cheap screen printed T-Shirt. The led battery component is a very cheap as well, even byChinese standards. The battery compartment is soldered to a separate chip which has the lights running from it. I cant say anything about the "music movement sensor" it described as I didn't know that was a thing but apparently mine didn't have it. Despite my initial impressions I was still was curious about how it would look when completed so I pushed on. After putting together a few pieces of furniture and splintering most of the pieces; after the 5th break I said forget it.This puzzle sucks and the quality is terrible overall. You'll likely find it to be more anxiety inducing than relaxing and you'll feel that sense of accomplishment if you can make it through 3 steps without having to glue the pieces back together. But if you're more into the tedious monotony of carving, sanding, sculpting or rebuilding each piece before you put it together then this book nook will give it to you in spades. There are tons of book nooks out there and even with the same aesthetic. Get a better quality one. I was honestly looking forward to this one and it was a huge disappointment. I'm writing this for those on the fence because this is the kind of puzzle that'd drive a first timer to never mess with them again. Shop around for a better one.

Really great project!
The media could not be loaded. This little nook was so fun to build! It was very meticulous, which I loved! It took maybe 12-14 hours to build. It looks beautiful and the quality of the artwork is amazing! The motion sense lights are a huge plus!A few notes I do have - I broke quite a few pieces trying to take them out of the wooden sheets, so take your time. Some sheets are more flimsy than others. I used tweezers A LOT to assist in popping out the pieces from the wooden sheets and to help place items since they all are very small! Super glue did not work well for this so I recommend wood glue or a thicker glue that holds better.I also want to note that this is about an inch longer than the average book so it sticks out of my bookshelf.
