This black thumb brace is a great improvement over the slip-on, beige fabric type. You should receive one of each (the beige and the black brace) in the package . The beige one is handy if the velcro attachment on the black brace is scraping your skin. I bought one right hand, one left hand and wear both under my doctor's care. They do help reduce pain.

This brace is very comfortable and supports the thumb without restricting some movement. It has helped with my crocheting. I highly recommend it.

The material between the thumb and the index finger is very flexible and pliable, which makes it easy to wear for longer periods of time. This product provides good support.

I have been using a similar splint that costs much more for a couple of years. I am not totally happy with that one as the Velcro wears out within a few months and I have to do repairs. I was excited to find this splint with replaceable Velcro. The support provided by this splint is equal to the more expensive one and it is very comfortable with the more flexible ring of plastic around the thumb. I used my original Velpeau splint for less than a week and the flexible plastic began separating from the harder plastic at the top of the thumb support. I am not sure if this was happening due to wear, or if it happened when I fell. I have purchased another splint to see if it was the result of the fall. I am hoping that the new splint holds up longer than the first one as I really like it.

This helped with my thumb pain. Even though I measured my hand prior to ordering, the small was just too tight. I would order up a size.

My hand doc recommended this. It helps. It's not perfect, but then, neither is my thumb joint.

I used to wear a Push MetaGrip brace until my Dr showed me this one. This one is much more comfortable to wear and is 1/3 the price. The only con with this one is that the black rubber cushioned part split after 2 months of everyday use so I had to replace it but I'll swap the shorter lifetime for the added comfort and better price.Definitely recommend this brace.
