These are pretty heavy and thick. Should protect items very well. They came up in a search for sound dampening which is what I was looking for. I am using them as a barrier between the main part of the office and where I have 3D printers. They do surprisingly well to block some of the sound. After trying multiple options I did not have high hopes. They aren't soundproof by any means but their thickness helps a lot. In the right configuration and area they can help with blocking some noise. True soundproofing options were very expensive compared to a couple of these and they do well enough for my use. They are built made very well and should last a long time.

I bought this blanket for my dog’s crate. He is an anxious boy who gets easily over stimulated when we’re not home. This blanket has been working extremely well to help give him a calm environment. I folded it in half before placing it under his crate cover and it fits perfectly. I even tried it myself and I can’t hear the white noise playing in the same room. Very good product thanks!

I bought 2 of these for a PC game room used, coupled with acoustic foam so I don't bother the neighbors. I believe they do absorb sound and acts as a barrier. There was no smell, some of the stitching threads are frayed, however its not a deal breaker because they are hung. They could be a bit lower in price but for a few extra bucks they fare better than thin moving blankets.

I use this for my dorm-style space where my bed is directly between the main door and the couch. This helps divide my space and gives me privacy, and most importantly helps to dampen the sound from people coming in and out.

It helps but you will have to get several I’m afraid to really notice major changes in the sound level.

I bought this to block the hallway from my gaming room works to keep the sound out while my fiancé sleeps pretty heavy and big sound protection is great and great quality for your dollar

Didn’t make any difference in sound dampening in my studio. I also bought gap blockers for under the door of my double door entry , have solid doors, and this blanket was hung with a curtain rod to keep it close to the wall. I can still hear everything going on outside the door and people can hear me playing music. I put a white noise machine outside the door to try and help but it’s the only thing making an impact. What an utter disappointment but not returning because it would be a pain in the rear end to have to do so. Bummer! I can’t believe I paid so much for a cheap moving blanket disguised as a product for studios.
