Video quality is terrible! Do not buy!
Very bad video quality! It is a very grainy image.

Fabulous.
I did not expect it to be that good.

A good camera module that could use some mounting method, and a softer cord
This module did what it promised. The cord is very thick and stiff, which makes it harder to position the camera precisely. Also there are no real mounting provisions provided, so you will need to figure it out yourself. The auto-focus works, but sometimes I had to wave my hand in front of the lens to get it to refocus. I was using this to calibrate the X-Y-offset of a 3D printer, so this was a demanding application. In the end, I accidentally broke the glass lens when I dropped a metal tool on it - 100% my fault.Overally, if you need a camera module that has autofocus, this is a good and economical choice.

Unusably low frame rate, ineffective autofocus
This camera does not honor the fps set for acquisition. YUYV 640×480 @ 30 fps is really ~6 fps. YUYV 1280×720 @ 10 fps (already pretty low) is actually just below 2 fps. A Logitech C310, almost 10 year old, pulls 1280×960 @ 5 fps (real) on the same computer. You want full HD? 2592×1944 @ 2 fps (already useless) gets between 1.5 and 0.8 fps (seems light-dependent). Any motion in the video becomes a loooong blur.Still don’t think that’s bad enough? With plenty of light, the autofocus adjustment is quite noticeable (about 1 second maybe). But when there’s not much light, it gets dramatically worse, taking several seconds, and more often than not, it fails to find the right focus, leaving me with a blurry video that just won’t focus until I restart the video feed.Oh, how about light sensitivity? That’s just average. While this camera seems to have superior light sensitivity than a 10-year-old Logitech C310, its focusing problems make it much less suited to low-light conditions.I was unable to get the camera streaming MJPG in resolutions above 800×600. And even then, it still only managed about 24 fps. For comparison, the C310 streams in MJPG all the way to its max 1280×960, holding about 15 fps at any resolution (probably its limit).Software used: V4L2 Test Bench (qv4l2), VLC.

It technically worked, but awfully
The camera technically did work with my Macbook. The picture quality was not too bad actually, but where the issue lies is with the frame rate. It is DEFINITELY not 30 fps. Movement was choppy and laggy and it was an awful experience. Do not buy this is you are looking for a fluid, stable camera.
