AutoXscan Lower Control Arm Prying Tool

This is what I would consider a specialty tool but I've borrowed one of these from a friend in the past and they work very well. Basically, this is just a bent steel rod that you hook on the top of the lower control arm and put a bar in the circle part and use the leverage to pry your control arm apart. Although it's extremely basic, it works well and I'd recommend this to anyone working on their vehicle's control arms. I have tried several other ways to separate them and this is by far the easiest and lease expensive for a home mechanic.This part is made of a very thick metal, is very durable and you won't be able to bend or damage it. It doesn't take up much room in your tool box and it's a tool that is great to have for any auto mechanic that will last forever.
