Tried 2, and neither worked consistently
I'll start by saying that this adapter isn't worth the price, any price. It doesn't work reliably, and is really frustrating when it cuts out and resets your Display options. Some background:Had the adapter connected to an HP computer's DisplayPort (DP), then a short (roughly 3') HDMI cable into a ViewSonic 1080p monitor. The first SWITCHFLUX adapter I got cut out and had "sparkles" on the screen. I sent it back and received a new one. There are no "sparkles" now, and the connection seems fine at first, but after a short time it cuts out again and again. I tried 2 different HDMI cables with this adapter as well.As others have noted, it could be a backwards compatibility issue with lower resolutions, or maybe a refresh rate issue, but I have a different brand of DP to HDMI adapter that is rated for 4k, and it has been great from day 1. The other adapter is also less than half the price of this one. The listing page for this adapter also states that it will work with lower resolutions.Based on the other reviews, it seems like it's worked for some, but I don't recommend it.

Tried 3 other adapters first; 4th time's the charm
This SWITCHFLUX DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Adapter [8K@60Hz] successfully connects an NVIDIA RTX 3090 to an LG 24ML44B-B monitor.

It works, and does its job
Get full 120hz 4k through the adapter so no complaints on my end.

Not good for long distance
This did not work for me because more likely the distance I need to go of 20ft. I got it for the ability of HDR which it states it can, but when I enable HDR the picture was spotty. In some cases the screen would have black and white lines all over it, like a snowy picture when a channel does not come in. With HDR disable the picture worked but would look weird. The HDMI cable used is actually beyond the rating of this adapter so there should be nothing wrong there. Adapter was returned do to what I believe to be incompatibility reasons.

DP1.4 Cannot Carry full HDMI 2.1 Signal!
Peak data bandwidth of DP 1.4 is 32.4Gbps - while HDMI 2.1 spec is rated for 48Gbps.The only way to achieve the 4k@120 with HDR and 4:4:4 color space is through something called "DSC" or digital signal compression. Some electronic devices are not compatible. Example: LG C2 series do not support it. So connecting your PC to the C2 via the DP, the PC will recognize the signal and attempt to send it, but your TV will only see a black screen bc it does not know how to decompress the compressed digital signal. This product should be clearly labeled as "REQUIRES DSC FOR FULL 4K120 HDR 4:4:4 SUPPORT".If you are looking for 4k120 with HDR, 4:4:4 color space, and VRR without DSC, you'll need to find a DP 2.0 or better adapter to HDMI 2.1.

Good build quality and prevents dumb return of big ticket gaming items
When connecting GPU displayport to mainstream monitors 2K 144/165Hz, the good old Displayport->HDMI adapter doesn't cut it anymore. Restricting the display to only 2k @ 60Hz. This has caused many immediate returns of GPU cards and monitors - as I almost did a couple of times. Having a bunch of these adapters around will ensure that will never happen to you. (I'm happily enjoying the full capabilities of both the GPU and my set of monitors thanks to these connectors.)

Fab Quality - needs a good HDMI cable
It just works - provided you use a decent HDMI cable. Running at 4k60, a cheaper cable resulted in a blank screen.

Higher resolution issues
I took a chance on this cable as I needed a way to disable HDMI CEC from the pc and this was the best option, however the resolutions it says it supports are hit & miss though it could be tv dependant4k @144hz HDR flickers on and off continuously for a solid 5 minutes before it eventually settles and is fine4k @120hz is the same issue but settles within a minute which I got used to however the issue then was I couldn’t get my 5.1 eARC system to work because as soon as a sound was played the screen cut out againAgain this could all be cable dependant it could be the hdmi cables I use but they are ugreen 2.1 cables over 5Metres so I can’t see that being the issue as they work just fine on their own which leads me to believe it’s this cable that’s the issue

It works
tried 6 before this. this is the only one that could pull off 4k 120hz combined with my 8k HDMI cable.
