An important water bottle for the serious and avid outdoorsman and outdoorswoman
This is not one of those water bottles that will keep your drink cold for 24 hours or longer and it will not keep it hot for 12 hours or longer. This bottle is one that you want to have with you if you are a hunter, camper, hiker/explorer, etc. If you are a person who goes on expeditions or safaris this is the bottle for you as well. This bottle is very light and thin but don't let that fool you or make you think that it's fragile. It is made 100% out of titanium so it should last for the rest of your life easily. This bottle reminds me of the canteen I carried when I was in the ARMY decades ago, but much better. The bottle has a screw-on top that you have to jiggle a tad to get it started and to make sure it stays in the grooves and seals completely. It's not as hard, difficult, etc. as I make it sound with my words. On the top of that lid is a small handle that 2 or 3 fingers will fit in and you can carry the bottle that way if you so desire. A case comes with the bottle, a nice camouflage case that definitely helps you to carry the bottle and other items of your choosing. There are three ways to carry the bottle using the case. The first way is to grasp the paracord handle that is included. The second way is to use the included long strap and put it over a shoulder or around your neck or across your body in the front or back. The third way is to hook it onto your belt. On the case there are 2 straps with snaps on them so all you have to do is unsnap them, put them under your belt, and snap them closed. All 3 ways are simple but effective and better than trying to hold just the bottle with your fingers under the handle that is on the lid. The case also has 2 pockets on it where you can store anything that will fit inside them. One of the pockets is perfect for keys, loose change, cash, lip balm, and other small things. The other pocket is at least twice the size of the small one and can hold more things, obviously. If you have a small phone it will fit in that pocket, but the newer iPhones, Galaxies, etc. will be too big. Both pockets do have zippers so whatever you put in them will stay in them. This bottle is very unique because it can be placed on or above an open flame over and over and over again. Every once in a while the serious and avid outdoorsman and/outdoorswoman might get lost or simply not have enough water for their entire journey and none of us can last/survive without water for very long. If you have this bottle all you have to do is go to a creek, stream, river, mud puddle, etc., fill it with water, bring it back, put it over an open flame until it boils, which gets all of the impurities out of it, let it cool, and you have clean drinking water that could literally save your life. No worrying about lack of water or getting sick from contaminated water. I love and own several of the water bottles that will keep drinks cold or hot for long amounts of time but, in my opinion, they fail in comparison to the Valtcan water bottle. I truly believe that any real, true, serious outdoor enthusiast should carry this bottle with them on any and all excursions. It could save their life or the life of a loved one.

Nice bottle, great case, but screw-top lid is a bit tricky to properly engage
This Valtcan 32 oz. water bottle is made of lightweight, uncoated, grade 1 titanium. It is smooth and unadorned, except for the Valtcan eagle branding on one side. It has a conveniently wide-mouthed, screw-top lid, with a small handle on top that can be manually upturned. The lid itself is all titanium, except for a narrow, embedded silicone seal. It takes a rather slow, gentle touch to open and close the lid, motions which don’t have the smooth feel of other water bottles you may be used to. Due to the texture of the titanium composition, it is somewhat tricky to properly engage the metal threads of the screw-top.The included black and green camo carrying case is very well made. It has 2 compartments to stow small items, secured by quality zippers. 2 parallel snap straps run the vertical length of the case, and can act as handles when drinking. They can also be used to attach your canteen to a belt or backpack. The case has a cinch feature to tighten near the mouth of the bottle. Also included are a shoulder strap, as well as a thick, braided paracord handle, both of which clip to 2 plastic d-rings sewn near the top of the carrier. A Valtcan logo patch decorates the side of the case. A metal eyelet reinforces a single, small hole on the bottom of the case, likely for drainage of rainwater or condensation. My canteen did not come with any care or cautionary instructions, either on its plain brown box or in the form of a paper insert. According to the “About This Item” section on Amazon, the bottle is dishwasher-safe. It is also heatable on open flame, as long as its lid is removed.I like the lightweight durability of this titanium water bottle, and I love the look and utility of its well-designed, camo carrying case. Though I am reluctant to blacken its pristine exterior, it’s nice to know that I have the option of heating my bottle on an open flame, if I should need to sterilize my drinking water, or - more importantly - make my morning coffee. I will probably not use this as an everyday drinking bottle, given the somewhat cumbersome opening and closing process. However, I am very much looking forward to subjecting my new bottle to the rigors of the great outdoors on my upcoming camping and hiking trips.

Great for hiking
My dog and I do a lot of short (usually around 5 mile) hikes on local trails. The one liter capacity of this bottle is perfect for us since it allows me to carry enough water for both of us. The titanium construction makes for a very light but very sturdy bottle. Since I am only day hiking, the ability to boil water right in the bottle is not important for me, but it is still a good way to clean out the bottle when I get home. I like the wide mouth which makes it easy to drink directly from the bottle. The included carrier is very handy. It comes with belt loops, a shoulder strap, and carry handle. I found that with a full bottle, attaching the bottle to my belt to be a bit awkward and prefer the shoulder strap. The carrier has one pouch that will hold a cell phone and another smaller pouch that can hold keys and the like. The phone pouch is marginal in size and I can just barely fit my phone in it. Larger phones (or bulky cases) will probably not fit. I tend not to bother with the pouches anyway. One complaint is that while the top seals well, it does not thread on/off smoothly. It is not a big deal, but considering the price point of this bottle, you would expect it to be better. Other than this one issue, the overall quality of this bottle is very good (as you would expect) and I look forward to using this bottle for many, many seasons.
