Excellent!
I love self amalgamating tape. It's always in my (limited) DIY emergency kit and can last for ages if used correctly. This was cheaper than other brands, so I wasn't expecting much HOWEVER it's as good if not better as any other bug brand

Good quality tape at a very good price
The media could not be loaded. Despite being an avid tinkerer of cars and bikes and DIYer I had never come across this stuff. I had to look it up before getting a roll to try.Clearly, I'm no expert, but this is obviously of the thicker, more robust type compared to some on offer. So make sure which one you want if shopping around. Compared to similar tapes both on Amazon and elsewhere, value appears very competitive at the time of review. In case you've not come across this stuff before, it's also sometimes called self-fusing or self-vulcanising tape. The layers of rubber tape bond to each other. It doesn't have adhesive to stick to surfaces. Instead you wrap it tightly enough around and then because it's stuck to itself, it stays put. It's apparently useful for insulating and waterproofing a damaged cable, temporary low pressure hose/pipe repairs. In the video I just attached a small piece to the stand of a lamp and also wrapped around the flex of the lamp. As you can see it goes on quickly and easily. It fused to the underlying layer immediately. You can see as I remove it, that it's not the toughest of barriers as it stretches and can be cut relatively easily. But it seems strong enough to handle a repair and is easy to remove afterwards. The surface here was completely clean after I'd removed it.I suspect that because it does not rely on bonding to the surface, it will be useful when it's not possible to clean and prepare a surface (i.e. emergency repairs). It will be going in my emergency kit in the car and on the bike alongside the duct tape and cable ties.

Reasonable Amalgamating Tape
This self amalgamating tape appears of a fairly standard appearance, although at 19 mm is slightly less wide than my usual supply at 25 mm. In use, this made little practical difference.I needed this tape to cover my TV aerial coax connection, recently re-fixed after a storm. It was just the same in use as my previous tape, and seemed to “amalgamate” quickly enough even in the cold weather. As a DIYer not professional, I probably use more than required, so the supplied length of 10 metres, longer than my usual roll, should still last a long time. It is cheaper than my usual, perhaps as it is less wide.Works fine, sensible price, good to have the lengthy roll.

Seals perfectly
The media could not be loaded. Having used self amalgamating tape many times before, I was really pleased to see this was really good quality tape. This is nice thick tape with a very good level of adhesion, so good that it can be tricky to remove the backing strip, but don't be put off, that is a good thing. Other tapes used have been much thinner and stretch out so thin that you end up using three times more than you thought. Adhesion on cheaper tape is poor by comparison, this tape only needs a slight stretch to stick well ,right up to the end which sticks down flat unlike the cheap ones which pull back on themselves and stand up giving a flap of material. I have used it so far to fix a leaking joint between two connected plastic components, but it is also great for adding grip to tool handles as well as sealing electrical connections against moisture.

Didn’t work for me
Tryed to attach to solar fountain connection ie. Pump to pipe. Watched videos etc but it wouldn’t stick just unraveled. Then tryed it on my finger lol with no adetion to it self. So it’s a 👎👎

Stick It
Does what it says. easy to cut to length, very sticky so sticks quickly to surface, is strong and well insulated.

A must have item
The media could not be loaded. I have used this type of tape for many years. It is so versatile. To use, stretch it and bind with a 50% overlap peeling off the backing as you go..It will stick to itself. It can be cut to length. Then secure the ends.I use electrical tape for this.At 19mm it is not as wide as I am used to but perhaps easier to work with at times.

Quick initial cure
This self amalgamating tape has a good stretch and applies easy. I’ve tested it and it does indeed start to cure in less than an hour (at room temp). Stated full cure is 12 hours. It does have a very slight cheap rubber odour but it certainly isn’t overpowering nor does the tape performance seem to be affected. The current price point price (£6.92 at the time of review) makes it not quite as good value as some brands. For the product itself I’ve rated it 4 stars.
