The most fun for exploring mud!
I have always loved this book and am just now replacing it after 10 years of having it in my toddler classroom! My last copy was so battered from so many readings through the years! It has simple text that is fun and brings you right into the joy of exploring mud through touch, smell and sight! The pictures are gorgeously done and really brings you back to the joy of mud play when you were a kid! Preschool classrooms use this quite a bit as well! It is a must have to any children's library!

Happy mud!
The kids in my outdoor class loved it! Minimal words for a read aloud and large descriptive pictures. The kids loved the bare feet in the mud.

I didn't think this was a bad book nor was it a good book
I didn't think this was a bad book nor was it a good book. It was just blah! About the snow thawing, scents of the earth coming out. Playing in the mud then grass growing. The illustrations are raved about in some reviews. I thought the grass under the child's feet looked like a venus fly trap reading to snap. My daughter was way to old for this book and its going in my donate pile. I think 3 and under would be great for this book. However, they might get bored of the illustrations lacking color.

This book is a great opening to spring or any mud projects
This book is a great opening to spring or any mud projects. The pages are colorful and the words are simple, but descriptive enough to capture little ones' attention.

Springtime celebrates mud
I love that this book is a celebration of mud and getting dirty and sticky, which is something we should all do no and again. Also, the illustration are great, too.

Beautiful illustrations - American text
I bought this book because of the title. Running forest school sessions for our reception class, I wanted to inspire the children to enjoy playing with mud and encourage them to go wild. The illustrations are lovely although the American text let it down as a teaching aid. Ended up rewording to suit.

MUD
Roughly one sentence per page with fantastic pictures. Would be good to link to messy play at home or in the classroom

Poor quality
Pictures are lovely but the book quality feels very cheap with thin pages.
