Great phone at a great price
This is a really great phone. I only got it for £260 6 months after being released, which is a fantastic price for what you get. The battery life is good, the camera is good, the display is great and I also don't mind Samsung's OneUI (first time using a Samsung) since you can customize it to your needs and make the phone look like stock Android. And what's very important to me is that Samsung promises 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates which means one can easily keep the phone for half a decade. I don't think anybody else comes close in the Android space.

EE version
My four year-old Samsung A70 died in my hands. I tried the A14, but the fingerpring sensor drove me mad. This A53 fits the bill in every way, good screen, good phone, as perfect a fingerprint scanner as I have come across and, with the EE version a very good price. I still don't know what the difference is between the ordinary A54 and the EE version, but this meets all of my needs.I take a LOT of photos on this, so the camera was an important part of the decision, as was the screen quality. Both have met all requirements.A lovely phone at a lovely price.

Excellent hardware let down by annoying software
After having problems with poor voice quality on my previous android phone, I decided to replace it with Samsung A54. I had three main requirements of the phone, firstly to have good call quality, secondly to have a good camera and finally to have decent battery life.I am pleased with the hardware of the phone, it is generally excellent. Screen is lovely, battery life is decent, call quality is good. There are various youtube reviews complaining about slow CPU, but I find it very responsive in normal use. Only minor points are lack of headphone jack and volume could be a bit louder. The main downsides with this phone are all software related. The Samsung UI is OK but rather bloated - too many uneccessary features and intrusive samsung apps you can't remove and can't disable notifications for. At one point I needed to create a samsung account, so logged in using my google account as suggested. Samsung then insisted that I create a seperate samsung login and spammed my email every 10 to 15 seconds with reminder emails until I had finished creating the account. This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable, really annoying. The other downside is the default camera app. Part of the reason for buying this phone was needing a decent camera because I have to document some of the work I do with phone on tripod, using a bluetooth shutter release. Unfortunately the default camera app times out after two minutes as a power saving feature which is really annoying for my use case and I probably wouldn't have bought the phone if I had known about this. Thankfully, the 'open camera' app doesn't have this problem.

Seems to be a very good phone
I bought this phone from Amazon a fews weeks ago. It was very easy to set up as I could transfer most of my details/apps from my old Samsung phone simply. The controls seems very good, battery life is good and the camera is good too. I haven't noticed anything I dislike about it yet. The worst problem was that this seller sent it via Royal Mai and I was never in to collect it.

It is a risk
My son is using A52, and I wanted to buy A54, buying online from cheaper place. When I got the phone from Simply Deals UK two months ago it came in open box and intended for a different market, but that wasn't a problem for me, thinking it was a new phone and it didn't matter. 1-2 weeks ago, the battery started to drain in one day, the charging time increased from 1.2 hours to 2.2 hours, but the biggest problem is the moisture sensor, which is activated most of the time and does not allow the phone to charge. In contact with the seller, they told me that the warranty is 30 days and has expired, but also telling me for damage coused by water which is not covered with warranty. Why someone would sell a new phone with only 30 warranty. The phone is a gamble: either you will pay cheaper, or you will pay twice.
