I searched for a good radio on Amazon
After buying a small radio from Wally World, and returning it the next day because it was defective, I searched for a good radio on Amazon. Got this little radio, and it works great. You have to press and hold the ON button for a few seconds to turn it on. All the other button functions are intuitive. Excellent reception on both AM and FM, and the shortwave reception OK as long as you only want the powerhouse international AM stations. It will play for about 36 hours continuous with 2 AA batteries, with the volume at a mid-range 25. It has some heft to it, doesn't feel like a $15 radio. The display is easy to read. Instructions are typical Chinese translation, and the print is small, but that's to be expected. Overall, I have to rate it as 5 stars for quality and what you get for just a little money.

No power cord came with it.
No power cord comes with it. The instructions which come with it says find anywhere to buy a "5 volt" usb cord, but when I searched online for 5V usb cords they all are "barrel" shaped (round) ends, vs the receptacle in this radio to plug a power cord into is not a round. So to avoid that problem they should have included a charger cord.

Compact and well made radio, function well
The radio works well, and it seems to pick up stations quite clearly. The tuning method leave a little to be desired, because it has buttons, and not a dial, but that is a personal preference. It is surprisingly much smaller than I expected from the pictures. That actually turned out to a positive feature. It is small enough to be slipped into a pant or coat pocket, so I can anticipate carrying it while camping, travelling abroad, etc.. The build quality was also quite impressive. It seems well made, and resembles the Japanese "transistor radios" of the 70's and 80's. The price was also reasonable.

Worst instruction manual ever!
I bought this radio to keep in my camper, so I could check local radio stations wherever I go. I tried in vain to understand the instructions, which were badly translated English, and had no luck. I finally succeeded in getting the radio to turn on, but could not switch modes, and the radio worked only in sleep timer mode and it would turn itself off after a couple of minutes. I am very savvy at figuring out how things work, but this radio beat me. I would have sent it back if I hadn't waited a couple of months to try it out. Now I am stuck with this radio, but don't YOU be like me and fall for it.

easy to use radio
Very compact, easy to use radio. Sets time and stations easily, batteries seem to last a while, my only complaint is the sound quality. This is a hand radio so it would seem to be ideal for emergency packs, hiking, or the likes however I did find quite a few spots transmission faded out and sound wasn't very clear. I expected better sound quality than one built in the 90's. As long as your expectations don't exceed 90's sound its great.

I also don’t like the army time
The radio works well but I did not get the usb cord that is suppose to go with it. The instructions are very hard to understand .I also don’t like the army time. The company told me it does not come with a usb cord even thought it is stated in the description under what’s in the box.

Good for SW, not AM
Shortwave and FM work well for a modestly priced radio such as this. However, AM and LW did not work at all, at least on my unit.

Great little radio
Great little radio . Happy with the purchase and the price . Easy to use and the speaker sounds pretty good for a budget small radio
