Good
Normally I would have given this five stars rating but on a personal level the ending could have been a lot better it would have benefited with a second story.

Excellent as ever...
A series of unexplainable hospital deaths spark a pathologists interest to investigate these strange cases... but will Cassi be putting herself at risk to?Medical mystery and chilling suspense is Cook's speciality. Godplayer has the usual input of techinical and medical jargon to enable the storyline to flow with such scary realism. This book will open your eyes to a new meaning of 'natural selection'. The question is: is it natural or unnatural? I couldn't sleep when nearing the end of the book as I just HAD to find out what was going to happen next. My stomach churned and adrenalin pumped as more and more deaths became inevitable.

Easy read medico thriller.
The author’s 5th novel (1983) and already signs of the authors hugely successful medico thrillers written to a template with a plot randomizer. Plenty of technical heart disease flummery admittedly well written for the layman like me over written with a hospital politics plot. Central plot is super surgeon and his put upon doctor wife as their marriage hurtles up and down. This is overlaid a conspiracy that never gets off the ground. Easy one day holiday reading with a weak ending. 2 stars for a one sitting journeyman novel.
