Long-awaited reissue. Four CD set that celebrates the music of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. Originally released in 1991, this four disc set features material from their albums as a group in addition to selections from their various solo and duet albums. It also features many outtakes, including from sessions that did not result in an album by the group. Highlights include a cover of The Beatles' "Blackbird" and the full length take of "Almost Cut My Hair." With the exception of "Helpless" and "Ohio," the set excludes any material written by occasional bandmate Neil Young.

Superb compliation
Amazing value box set. Great timeless songs and plenty of variety from the group as well as solo projects etc.. The accompanying booklet is very comprehensive - information, photos and comments on each track from the group members. Highly recommended.

A fine anthology
From 1991, this 4-CD box set is a superb example of how to anthologise an artist/group's work. The music is the primary focus. Some very familiar songs appear in alternate mixes or slightly extended, classic singles and/or album tracks remind us of why we loved the guys and finally some quality outtakes punctuate the myth a little bit more. The song selection is exceptional and beautifully sequenced. In fact, you could be forgiven for only owning this set and nothing else by them. The package covers all phases of CSN from 1969 up to 1991, including solo efforts and duos (Crosby & Nash, Stills-Young Band). For years, this was available in a pricey, vinyl-size box. As much as I would love to have the original thing, I'm delighted to now own this more compact package which still retains all the music as well as a smaller size version of the booklet. The price is excellent and is a worthy investment, particularly if you already own some of the original albums. It's by far and away the finest best-of collection by CSN.

Absolute magic
Graham Nash; Stephen Stills and David Crosby are all represented here, individually, as they are collectively, and the music is as rich now as it was back when we first heard it. I'd be happy travelling listening to this as I would, sitting up, late at night with a glass of wine. There's no set time when this album should be heard, it's a valuable listen, wherever you are, whatever you're doing. I find these guys to be so relaxed in their approach to their music, and, if ths songs can sound as good as that, any time, it just goes to show how hard they actually worked to put each masterpiece together. I love and value every single track on here, and I know you will, too, if you're a fan.Buy the album. You can't go wrong.

Brilliant
This is CSN&Y in all their combinations, both together and solo - and the music is as majestic today as it was when first released. Most, if not all, of the hits are here. Absolutely no filler. A personal favourite is Soldiers of Peace, which I wasn't previously familiar with. Talk about value for money - don't miss out on this.

Excellent overview
The box is an excellent overview of the band's career and although it's usually all the old fave's that are trotted out, there are a few unreleased and different versions of things we all know and love. The fact that it's come down thirty quid in price in the UK is a serious bonus.I actually bought it for my daughters (who just love singing) as a way to teach them to harmonise and I honestly don't think they can go too far wrong cos they'll be learning from the best.
