Review for MAXRIENY Rechargeable Digital Multimeter Tester Pocket Smart Voltmeter Resistance Continuity Frequency V-Alert Live Checker Voltage Tester with FlashlightWorking with electrical circuits for my work, I often need to use to a multimeter to do simple testing and checking for correct voltages. The things I like about this: compact size, rechargeable battery, large backlit display. This isn't a fully featured multimeter only able to measure voltage and resistance. The multimeter can be used as a NCV tester, for me I use a pen type tool which is a much more convenient option as I can keep it in my pocket ready. The tool can measure ambient air temperature, as well as an LED torch. The torch is disappointingly dim, and the temperature although useful enough is not that useful, I would have preferred a few more core electrical testing functions such as current measure. The multimeter is powered by a built in USB-C rechargeable battery, which for some strange reason is located under a battery cover (with screw), this should have been a port on the side. Overall it has its uses, wont replace my main multi meter not sure of the intended use, too big for a NCV and not multifunctional for a multimeter.

This meter will cover most of your ordinary meter needs. It supports DC, AC (with frequency), and resistance/continuity. It has an AUTO mode which pretty well figures out what you're trying to do.I recently used it on a small project to find a broken wire on a Micro SD card connector. The continuity beeper was the main feature I used. There is a half second or so delay between making the contacts and the meter actually beeping, so this is on the slow side when compared to other meters. Other functions are also a bit on the slow side. The built-in high voltage alert is also slow, so I wouldn't rely on that feature too much. The meter response in general is a bit slow, but it gets there. Switching out of AUTO mode and into a specific mode helps a little.What you're really getting is a convenient meter. This one is small and has most of what you need as long as you don't have to do current measurements. This one will earn a spot in my toolbox. Another convenience is that it uses rechargeable batteries and a common USB-C connector, so no more disassembling your meter to get to a 9V battery. There is an auto shutoff feature. I prefer my meter to stay on a little bit longer than the cutoff time they included.I did find that the voltage readings didn't quite match up with my other more trusted meter. They differed by a few tenths of a volt. Depending on your needs, this might not matter. There's a thermometer built in. I had to read the manual to figure out which button to hold down to toggle between C and F degrees.The probes are attached to the meter, so you'll want to keep them protected. They have removeable probe tip covers which leave just the sharp points exposed, or you can take them off for traditional length probes. The grooves on the tips are useful for wrapping a wire around.All in all you get a convenient little meter for a reasonable price.

Spent my life as an auto tech, I have an expensive meter I used on the job, that one stays in my tool box. I needed a back up to keep in the house, for quick testing things and this is more then enough meter for that purpose. I'll be getting another to keep in my glove box, love that it comes in a nice hard case and it's small enough not to take up a lot of room. It will be nice for making emergency road side repairs. This little meter does a LOT, even non-contact live wire sensing! That's a time saver right there and even my much more expensive professional meter can't do that! It fit my needs perfectly, happy to have it!
