The Pianist 4K UHD [Blu-ray] [Region A & B & C]

The new 4K version of this film, is far superior in terms of image quality to all previous versions. The film itself, is a classic by Roman Polanski. It portrays the real life of a Polish Jewish pianist during the second world war and the nazi occupation of Poland. It shows the horrors endured by the Jews in Poland in the hands of the Nazis to a frightening degree. Near the end of the story a "good German" partially saves that image.Well performed by all the actors, well directed by Polanski, his is a sad but very worth while film to watch.

A true story film , with some well known actresses and actors, a must watch film !

Great Film

A very good film based on a true story.

Brilliant film , nominated for several Oscars and won three I believe,including best actor for Adrian Brody.I myself will accept " it's an oldish film ' as just a thoughtless comment 🤔?.After all what's age got to do with a work of art ?.Also this is often related to with" Schindler's list " which is another NINE years older.Only MY opinion but I prefer " The Pianist".Also IMHO some of the greatest films ever made are 70 plus years old long before the advent of CGI.Hitchcock films, Billy Wilder , Spartacus, Ben Hur and Sunset Boulevard etc etc.Very Brief Background,A talented pianists struggle for survival In the Warsaw Ghetto.Won't say anymore in case there's people who haven't seen this masterpiece.Finally, pattern in new films especially 2020 plus the difference between blu ray and 4K is minimal or even zero.It seems the older the film the more it benefits from being remastered to 4K.And this is one that does 👍 thanks to an advanced screening of a Copy that a friend was sent to review. Brilliant!!!

The other reviewer refers to this as an ‘oldish’ film. It’s as much a historical document of the treatment of Jewish people during WW2 as it is a film. Whatever year the film was made is irrelevant. The movie does not require naff modern effects such as CGI to effectively tell the story and hopefully educate modern audiences about the terrible events of the ghettoisation and subsequent genocide of Jews at the time. To be critical and refer to the movie on the basis of it being a piece of entertainment I find a little insensitive and disrespectful.I am very much looking forward to this 4k of what is an excellent film, with a stunning performance from Adrian Brody. My parented is Jewish and hasn’t seen this, so I think it’s an important watch not only for her, but to educate people in general on modern history.

What a pity. This is such a good film that I had originally bought on DVD so I wanted to upgrade to the 4k version. I put the disc into my player only to find that the language option did not play in English. I then tried the Blu-ray only to find the same issue.I shall sadly be returning it.

We all know the movie. It's one of the best WWII movies made in the last 30 years, based on a true story. The picture quality is truly stunning on this release by Studio Canal, an amazing upgrade to every single Bluray release to date. The detail is next level. Good news, also, is that the 4K disc is REGION FREE and will play in all 4K players around the world. (Yes, 4K media is supposed to all be region free but occasionally some releases are region locked in violation of the Bluray Disc Association's official specs).

I was so pleased to be able to order the 4K UHD version of The Pianist at all and that I didn't require a region-free player was an added bonus. The outside vendor delivered it to me in very good time, the packaging was well protected and the disk played beautifully.This film is so important to me so I am delighted that it is among the very best transfers I have ever seen. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Was a great acquisition for my Movie Collection. I would recommend purchasing this movie in 4K as it is worth every penny.
