Far superior to the 3000mAh batteries I was using
Far superior to the 3000mAh batteries I was using. Seem to just last and last. Take a long while to charge, but worth it.

Very powerful, quality Ansmann rechargeable batteries.
Very powerful Ansmann rechargeables, that will do the job just nicely. I am a fan of Ansmann batteries and chargers - you pay a bit more, but you get quality items.

Very long lasting
Excellent batteries, long lasting and easily charged. They are however heavy and expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Great capacity and the right size!
This review is of Ansmann 10,000mAh rechargeable D size batteries (or ‘cells’ to be precise) and at first glance not cheap !There are two very good reasons to consider them though. Value and size :ValueThey are 10,000mAh which is 3or4 times the stored capacity of AA size rechargeables so that (and Ansmanns reputation in this area) makes more sense of the price. After a few charge discharge cycles my cells all met the claimed capacity on my tester and should therefore come close to a disposable cell’s life in high powered radios and lanterns etc. while being rechargeable many times (assuming your device is designed/approved to run on them etc.)SizeSome devices (notably torches and radios) have very little spare space for ‘oversized’* cells. This matters as it’s a common issue with rechargeables of all sizes as the cell manufacturers ‘helpfully’ add length and width up to just within the official cell-size dimension limits, to maximise the capacity of their products.Meanwhile device makers for some reason assume a mid tolerance size as maximum and where 3 or 4 larger cells are lined up in a device this can be a ‘big’ problem. So if you’re concerned by this :My Ansmann 10000 D Cells measured between 60.2 and 60.5 mm long (I checked 12 but no guarantees they all are ! )For comparison a retail pack of Duracell disposable batteries contained cells measuring between 60.5 and 60.6mm the latter creating a really ‘tight fit’ situation in my radio)(Diameters were around 32.3 for the Ansmanns and around 33.0 for Duracells so also no problem)So Ansmann have delivered an excellent capacity cell that should fit in wherever a disposable cell would fit. Hope this helps*The International standard allows D Cells be between 59.5 and 61.5 mm long and 32.3 to 34.2mm wide and it would have been more sensible to make it more precise !

As far as I know these are the best batteries you can buy
I have bought these for 6+ years and never had a problem. Long life, high capacity and low discharge rates. I use them on torches and lanterns, often only needing to charge once a year on low use LED torches!
