Such an imaginative idea!
Who woulda thunk?!? This thing is great! It does what it says it’ll do. It creates a clear area for either feeding and/or keeping duckweed out of the filter area.It took me a hot second to figure out how to attach the tubing… my 60yr old brain just couldn’t see it in my head. But once I got it, I got it. The tubing is free floating and rides up and down the suction cup rods with the water level in the aquarium so it’s always on top of the water. Granted it’s not perfect, but it’s def worth the money.

Good for corralling plants
I purchased this for my 6.8 gallon aquarium. The instructions are fairly easy to understand. I got mine set up after soaking the tubing provided in hot water. It does what it says it does. The fact that the tube follows the water level high to low is a great feature. My only gripe is that the tubing provided is kind of opaque instead of it being clear which makes it kind of an eyesore in my tank. The tubing provided is in an odd diameter so you can't easily find clear tubing at any pet store.

Very happy
I’m very happy with my purchase. I bought this several months ago and the plants are still alive and have multiplied!

Held Back Duckweed For One Week Before Failing
Used in a 29g tank to allow from some floating plants while still keeping the tank mostly open for lighting.Pros:-Relatively easy setup, not complicated-Amble air tube so you can set the perfect length for whatever you're trying-A very simple but versatile designCons:-Plastic railings would sometimes catch the divider, preventing it from rising/falling when water levels changed, resulting in duckweed getting over-Inconsistencies in air tube (not rigid) meant it was sometimes sag, resulting in duckweed getting over-Despite following instructions, one suction cup would lose it's adhesiveness and come off. Started after a week, I kept trying it for another week before giving up. Was not near filter or any sort of agitation that could have knocked it off.-Bulky size makes it unattractive to place one of the suction ends on the front of the tankOverall, it might work for you, but is relatively cheap. Personally, I would go with the floating boxes over this design if you wanted to keep floating plants contained.

Works
It works well to keep the duckweed contained to one side of the aquarium. Doesn’t really rise and fall within the water levels, but it works nonetheless.

Waste of money.
Does NOT "flawlessly" go up & down with water levels! The whole reason I bought this set up was because it stated that it kept up with water level fluctuations. It absolutely does not & plants are still getting sucked under by my filter.

Worth it
I added a before & after pic on this review. The hose guard is definitely worth the few dollars ur going to spend. Before the guard all my floating plants were getting sucked into the filter & it was so annoying. Now it's so much better.

Sastisfaction!
