This is a very substantial hi-vis vest, made of a thick mesh material.If using this on a motorbike, the zip on the front is a good feature, so much better than the flimsy velcro straps you get on cheap vests which can came loose and result in the vest flapping about at speed. To adjust the fit there are six straps (three per side) that attach the front to the back. There are very strong velcro flaps on the shoulders. This means there is less chance of getting trapped because you can release it, but they are not going to come loose accidentally. I seem to remember when I worked in safety-critical areas on the railways that it was a requirement for safety vests to be able to come apart like that in an emergency.All these straps and zips mean that you can get a proper fit, even on top of a heavy biking jacket, and all the pockets mean that you can keep stuff in it and not have to ferret around in jacket pockets that are obscured by the vest. All the pockets have flaps secured by velcro.The chequered strips give this a bit of a police vibe - but not as much as the motorbike vests that have "POLITE" written across the back.One thing that is not apparent from the product photos is that there is the word "Security" across the back and on one one side at the front in reflective letters. I was not expecting that, and do not want or need it, but fortunately these are on removable patches held on by yet more heavy-duty velcro.This would be perfect for riding schools if you could get patches that said Instructor and student to replace the security patch. Otherwise, this is a decent vest for using on a bike or for security/marshalls, but probably too heavy and with too many pockets and clips to be suitable for safety work on building sites or whatever. Could also be OK on a pushbike.

This is a really well made hi-viz jacket with additional checkered reflective banding which makes it look far more official or even police-like.The product photos show blank patches on the front right breast and back of the jacket, but unfortunately the supplied jackets have 'SECURITY' printed on these patches.Thankfully these patches velcro on and off, and the soft velcro is on the jacket (with the rough velcro on the patch) so it is safe to remove the patches and use the jacket without.It's a shame it wasn;t supplied with either blank, a choice of, or customisable label patches.The jacket itself is really well made and very sturdy. It is adjustable with velcro straps so you can get a really good fit.It also has four pockets on the front, plus a phone/radio holder. The top pockets are well positioned for magnetic mounting body cameras, should you have the need for one of those.All in all this is a great jacket. Heavier and heacier duty than the flimsy hi-viz vests, but priced accordingly. The only big let down is those pre-printed patches (unless you are in the security business, of course, in which case they are ideal!)
