A bit of a weird shambles all round. I had the pleasure of watching this twice as the first time, due to fatigue, I kept drifting into bouts of sleep for seconds or minutes at a time thereby missing patches of dialogue. Watching it awake was no more illuminating or entertaining. It's been described in other reviews well enough; historical family slaying, re-filming of events by a group of students, dead killer possessing someone involved in the filming, cue fresh set of murders.The effects are pretty good which certainly lift it above the very low budget end of the scale. It's just not very interesting or scary. It's difficult to quite put my finger on why, it's not that bad there's just not anything particularly good about it. The characters are on the dull side, the dialogue is nothing to write home about and the story is all a bit daft. I'd have to say I wouldn't recommend it. It's suprisingly slow and does nothing to distinguish itself from countless of other similar themed horrors.

A malevolent evil transfers itself to a new host by videotape.....A bit of an odd duck is this film. The idea of the 'evil' using videotape as a transfer mechanism then taking over other people by the same method is discussed at length in the film but the idea doesn't gel very well. And while the horror escalates and becomes quite graphic it all seems a bit pointless. The story and the relationships between the characters is explained but it's all a little too contrived and convenient, prompting a 'really??' moment as it is concluding rather than a surprise. The result is not particularly satisfying.There are worse movies out there but don't expect anything special with this one.

Meine persönliche Meinung : ein typischer Thriller/Horror-Film, wie man ihn in diversen anderen Ausführungen schon einmal gesehen hat...mich persönlich erinnerte er ein wenig an "The Ring" - was die Art und Weise angeht, wie "das Böse" auf die Menschen einwirkt.Zum Film:" In einer US-Kleinstadt kommt es im Jahr 1994 zu einem schrecklichen Familien-Mord, bei dem ein Teenager auf grauenvolle Weise seine komplette Familie auslöscht.Jahre später arbeitet der Highschool-Schüler Julian (Johnny Pacar) an einem Remake dieses Verbrechens und taucht während den Recherchen immer tiefer in die damaligen Geschehnisse ein.Unterstützt wird er durch Quinn (Toby Hemingway), einem Bekannten, der beim örtlichen TV Sender arbeitet und ihn mit Filmmaterial und Kameraausrüstung unterstützt. Nebenbei versorgt dieser etwas seltsame Typ auch noch den Kleinstadtpolizisten Frank Lyons (Christian Slater) mit heimlich gedrehten Videos aus dem Mädchen-Umkleideraum der Schule.Während Julian bei seinen Dreharbeiten versucht, das dunkle Geheimnis seiner Heimatstadt aufzudecken und dabei auch seine eigene Vergangenheit aufdeckt, ist Quinn schon besessen von einer unheimlichen, bösen Macht, die sich einen Weg aus der Vergangenheit in die Gegenwart bahnt..."Zur DVD:Laufzeit: ca. 94 MinutenSprachen: Deutsch+EnglischFSK: ab 18 Jahrenwenige Extras, wie Filmtrailer + Filmtipps , KapitelauswahlIch persönlich war von diesem Film etwas enttäuscht, da die Story teilweise ziemlich an den Haaren herbeigezogen erscheint und -wie ich finde - den Zuschauer auch nicht richtig in den Bann zieht!Auch hätte ich mir mehr Szenen mit Christian Slater gewünscht, der in dem gesamten Werk vielleicht für gerade mal 10 Minuten zu sehen ist und dann eben auch nur eine kleine Nebenrolle spielt.Alles in allem gibt es durchaus bessere Filme dieser Art!Schade!Ein Film, den man sich einmal anschauen kann...das war`s dann aber auch schon!Dies ist - wie gesagt - meine Meinung!

This movie is about an evil entity that wants a specific person to inhabit. I won't tell you too much about what is going on because there are some secrets that i don't want to reveal. The actors do a fine job with this story and I love the fact that once again it is a wonderful telling and keeps moving at a good pace. There are some things that you may be able to guess. I will recommend this movie to you as a pretty good horror movie but it is not all that horrific if you get me. Johnny Pacar and Toby Hemingway are very good in their parts. Check this one out. But don't expect a lot, you will be entertained.

Very good movie, very strange movie but good.

This movie was rated the lowest paying movie made, in that year. I have not opened it. So to rate it, as how good it played, I cannot. It arrived quickly and was new, in wrapper. The price was acceptable, and I was very happy with it. Thank you

Even though it was somewhat predictable, I still enjoyed the concept of the movie... geez, just imagine finding out you are the son of a crazy dude who turns out to be your father!! ICK!!! There was that suspense factor that kept me interested throughout the movie.

Just watched maybe 1/2 of it and thought it waskind of a "dud". Some reviews were good though???Just didn't get into it at all.

Good movie! Liked it alot! The story line was very good. Christian Slater played a creepy cop alittle to well. The ending was good. Definately a good buy!
