Robust wrist band, almost exactly 1M in the cable.
The metal wrist strap is actually quite comfortable, considering it's metal. The links expand nicely to fit my average wrist. Almost zero resistance from inside of links to the 10mm "snap cap".The 1M Ohm resistance is in the cable. And it's at the wrist band end - I took it apart to find out (I didn't need the cable). That's exactly where it should be.The croc clip pulls out of the end of the cable if you need just the "banana plug" ending. The resistance is there to ensure a gentle dissipation of accumulated body charge to earth, rather than a short sharp shock you get when touching a radiator after rubbing your synthetic soled shoes on certain carpet. The resistance means the cable is not a "short circuit". It will throw AVOs continuity testers off, which may report "fail" when in fact it's the 1M ohm (1,000,000 ohms) resistor built into the cable that defies the "easy path / nothing in the way" test which continuity testers are looking for.Zero ohms is perfect continuity, anything above is increasingly "not continuous".I'm preaching to the converted. You guys and gals know your onions.Very happy with the wrist band. I didn't need the cable but it all seems fit for purpose to me.

Ignore the muppets claiming that this product is not fit for purpose ...
... testing for continuity between the push-stud and banana-plug/croc clip using a continuity tester or the continuity test function of a multimeter won't show any continuity because the cable has a built-in 1 mega-ohm resistance (as all good ESD straps should have). If you want to test for circuit continuity of the cable, test for resistance - if the tester displays OC or OL then there's infinite resistance (i.e. open circuit or no continuity) and the cable isn't fit for purpose. But that's not the case for the cable included with this product which I tested immediately after it was delivered by the delivery driver stuffing it through my letterbox and almost damaging it.I bought it to replace a fabric ESD wrist strap and cable that I've not used in 10 years or so (my last PC build) and was indeed found to be not fit for purpose when tested with a multimeter. It's early days but it seems well made and justifies the higher price of the other ESD wrist straps sold on Amazon.

Good little product
There is a 1mOhm resistance between the crocodile clip and wristband button clip, just right to give protection from unwanted spikes

DANGEROUS - DO NOT USE
I was shocked to find that after doing an earth continuity test with a Multimeter, there was NO CONTINUITY between the strap and the clip. After unclipping the earth cable connecter from the strap, I found that the strap itself worked but the earth cable did not. Because of these findings I consider this product UNSAFE as it will not prevent ESD happening. This is a total waste of money and would be better spent on an RS Components approved product. This product should not even be on sale as it is unsafe and fails to earth the user.

A bit tight
For someone with slightly larger wrists, this is tight and nips as the band opens out over the hand then compresses again. Metal square could do with taking the sharp corners off. Not very comfortable for an 8 hour day

A high quality ESD wrist strap.
I've owned various ESD wrist straps over the years, and most of them have been elasticated straps which end up getting thrown away after a while. I decided to upgrade and get this type which is grounded on all points of contact with the skin and much less likely to suffer from wear and tear. With the crocodile clip I can easily clip myself to a grounding mat that's permanently connected to ground, and so far I'm very pleased with my purchase.Pay no attention to the low reviews that claim this wrist strap is useless. Continuity testing will only work if there is very low resistance between two points; the cable of this wrist strap has a built-in 1MΩ resistance which is necessary to protect ESD sensitive devices, and therefore continuity tests will not generate a tone due to the high resistance. If you have a multimeter, you can test the amount of resistance in the cable.

Sturdiness
Well made and the wrist strap fits nicely. You get a decent bond with the crocodile fastener as well.
