Fun!
I ordered this because sometimes my dog really gets demanding about me throwing his ball for him! When I saw this, I was feeling a little under the weather, so I thought...wth, I'll see how this works.I wish it flung the balls a little farther, but it doesn't do a bad job. I also can only use this with my dog because if he is left unattended with the little balls, he will destroy them! The balls are a little small, so if you have a dog with a large mouth/throat, please be careful! While I was using this with my dog, I did notice that the cat was watching. So, if you have a cat that likes to chase/retrieve things, you may be able to use it with your cat??? Who knows. The reason I am giving it 4 stars, is because I think that it is very overpriced! I suppose you are only paying for the convenience, but OVER $100?!? That is a bit expensive to toss a little ball for my wallet!

Fun toy for your dog
Our younger dog LOVES this ball launcher. She knows it spits out balls and brings balls back to it, but she hasn't quite made the leap to understanding that she needs to drop the ball in the top (she has tried to put the ball back where it comes out, though). I'm sure we'll get there. The A/C adapter works fine, but the cord is too short and it's inconvenient to use. We tried using C batteries, but the machine and remote would not work. Sooo, I took it apart. The wiring is very thin inside and it turned out that the compartment for the C batteries is just a *hair* too tight, so the battery stack on each side was not extending fully from the spring to make contact with the metal plate on the other side. Also, the hot side from the A/C input and the batteries are stuck together, but there's a separate ground lead for the battery and A/C input. When I initially took it apart, the ground lugs may have been touching, which is bad as it connected the A/C and batteries. I bent the tabs further away before putting it back together. Once re-assembled with the fixes, the batteries powered it fine! Freedom from the wall wart! Some people have complained about the ball not launching as well after it's used for a while in one session. I've seen them chalk this up to dog slobber or dirt. I don't believe that's the case now that I've had it apart. There are two (undersized, I believe) coil-driven motors driving a wheel on each side to launch the ball like a baseball or tennis auto-launcher. I believe those coils get hot and weaken in long sessions, slowing the wheel turning and reducing ball launch power. It may be possible to put a tiny fan on each one (as on a small CPU) to keep it cool and retain its power. If it is an ongoing problem, I may try it. For now when it starts getting weak, we just put it away for the day and it's fresh and strong the next time we pull it out again.Overall, this is a great dog toy, if a bit too cheaply made.

Fabulous to fetch
This ball launcher has a lot of power & is easy to use. It's not too powerful though because my Yorkie stood right in front of the hole so she got hit by a ball. It didn't deter her from playing with this whatsoever. You can use the remote or the ball will automatically launch if there's one inside while it's powered on.I was pleased with the quality of the balls & how well they bounce! The balls are bright so they are easy to find. The balls surface is covered in dots which makes it easier to grip without making it harder to clean.

Good but limited
The media could not be loaded. I was really happy to get this ball launcher for my 'loves to chase balls' pup. I read the instructions and made note of how it stressed that the balls used should be clean and dry. I made sure to set it up on a dry day so there would not be any moisture from wet grass.I tried it out and was very pleased with the performance. It revved up first without my dog to see how it would work. It easily shot the balls 10, 20 and 30 feet. You can just see the different resting places in one of my photos. It was very consistent. I reloaded the balls and shot them again just to be sure it would work. It did. Also, the noise it made when revving up was minimal and not loud.I added in my pup and you can see in the video how much he loved the launcher. I sent all six provided balls his way and he loved them all. Even though the balls were small he did not chew on them or mangle them in any way. I gathered them up and then wiped them off since they were slightly damp from his mouth. That's when the function of the launcher became a problem. This time when I put the ball into the machine it barely spit it out. I made sure to wipe the balls more and tried again but it would not launch the balls.Cleaning and drying the balls thoroughly as well as the interior of the unit solved the problem, but I can tell you that this is not a workable system for a dog as active as mine. Basically the delicacy of this unit means that after I have run all 6 balls through the unit I will have to suspend play. Each ball will have to be cleaned and very thoroughly dried before I can send through the 6 balls again. If I had a whole bunch of these balls - say a couple dozen - then it would be satisfying to my dog. As it stands, the delay in game while I dry off the balls interrupts the play and stops his exercise.I don't know what dog this unit is designed for. What dog does not have a wet mouth? Perhaps if you have a very old dog or a very small dog who would be satisfied with chasing just 6 balls it would be a good launcher.I still gave it 4 stars because it does a good job when all its specific conditions are met but for me and my very active dog this launcher is too delicate to meet our needs.

Fun but
It is fun but not as fun as I thought it would be. Once you read the directions you have to make sure the ball is dry and clear. Yeah try playing catch with a dog and keep the ball dry and clean lol. Better keep a towel handy. But it does save your arm from throwing the ball all the time
