This is a great book in a great series. Alfred puts out excellent quality education material. Their step-by-step approach helps you or your student make steady progress, not just learning chords but understanding rhythm and musical notation. I'm using this teaching guitar online during COVID. I have a copy and my students have their own. The price is very good for the quality of music curriculum this is.

I started playing guitar using Book 1 during Lockdown and have now completely worn-out Book 3 from over use. These are great books to self learn with. If you want a basic grounding using the frets at the top end of the guitar, then these books get you started. Now I'm using all five fingers on my left hand to flat pick a tune. It seamlessly blends basic guitar technique with playing progressively more complex tunes, making you improve. I'm now looking to play blues on an electric guitar at the lower end of the neck. This series of books provided an excellent grounding that I feel I can build on. Excellent.
